It has been a while since I have played. Are there any good freeware replacement terrain texture packs out there for the sea/ground?

Wombraider,

For which area of the world?

Howdy Wombat!

I use PacTex2, Lindsey Watt's clouds, and Rumbaflappy's (sorry if I butcher's his user name!) world wide mesh for starters. From there, there are several add-on packs that upgrade landclass, not to mention add in tons of new airports. CFS2 is an old program, but I like to think that is has aged well.

Thanks Wulf190 (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/member.php?281-Wulf190) . I also went to this library too and downloaded a few things. The air explosion effects did not work well.

I downloaded the mesh from Rumbaflappy's site. I went with the DEM7 option. How do I install the mesh? I put it all in the ADDON\Mesh\Scenery folder and activated it in the scenery library. I have no idea if it worked as when I try to enter the coordinates for my home town, it limits me to below 89* N and 89*S.

I installed a few aircraft from here. I am noticing a lot of hoops to jump through to add stuff. I prefer to have all the folders ready in a zip file to extract to the sim. The B-29 seems to have a severe COG problem and just tries to do a loop.

Get Rami's install guide. the DEMs aren't really optionial. they are layers to the mesh. each builds on top of the other. I could be wrong but you may need it.

Rami's install guides for MTO and ETO.

Please note that if you are using Rhumbaflappy's Mesh for the PTO that the stock airbases will not work. There has been some work to get things in order but its been piecemail.

I would start with one of the install guides. Either way it will tell you how to install the mesh.

As for the B-29, which one is it. there maybe a some files out there that will fix it. need some more info so we can help get you started in the right direction.

Hope this helps.
