Paying the bills [Archive]

Hi All,

Today we start our 2015 Charter Membership Drive, to pay the bills for the coming new year. The size of our library has doubled since last year and we also hope to replace one of our servers, so please dig as deep as you feel able and give what you can.

We have a great and loyal membership here, well respected by all and with your good graces we will continue for another year.

All the best for the New Year!

It may seem a minor point, but could you make the "Contribute Now" link larger, more central and generally more obvious please. Many thanks. It may help those who are in a rush and/or "can't see the wood for the trees" :encouragement:

Just made my contribution Roger. Didn't have to send Ickie a check this year, was able to do so online. I do not frequent as often as I did, nor as often as I would like. Big old goofy world full of sons, nephews, nieces, etc. But it keeps one young. And When I do frequent a flight sim site, it's the Outhouse.

Is PayPal the only way to donate ?
I'm running into the exact same problem as last year. I don't want to create a Paypal account.
Is it possible to make a simple transfer to an IBAN number or anything like that ?

Look at the top of the page -- there are four other cards pictured that can be used.

But I have used PayPal for more than 8 years and I love it. I have yet to have my PayPal account compromised; it has happened twice with other physical cards so far. With merchants who take PayPal, you NEVER have to sign in (well, usually) to create an account and fill out paperwork because PayPal already has all that info; you just pay and go. It's obviously popular. That's why Apple created their own Apple Pay.

Unfortunately, if you set the country in PayPal to "France" instead of "United States", the option to pay by credit card without creating an account just dissappears.
I know what PayPal is but I don't want to create an account nevertheless. I especially don't want to be forced to create one, as they do now...

Ditto! I would however like to know the percentage of members who contributed!

EDIT: since we will be part-owners of the SOH server, I would love to know the config of the server. Seriously now, I would LOVE to know the machine you're planning to buy, from a professional perspective!
