6:28 pm ISS went overhead and I watched it, wow it was going fast took 3 minutes to go out of view, I used my WW-2 navy binoc's high quality

If it was in the atmosphere, it would be moving at Mach 23 - yeah, I'd say it was moving pretty quick! :dizzy:

it looked like 2 tin cans on top of each other, all lit up, and straight up it hurt to look that high

On the Spotthestation website you can register for email notifications of when the ISS will be in view. All they want is an addy and a location (city). The notification will show a time, where it will appear, how long visible, where it will disappear. The time is accurate to within 30 secs. or so and it's easy to spot when you know the info.

Because of the orbital variation and rotation of the earth most locations will get one or two viewings each day for 2-3 days then nothing for a week or so (dawn/sunset passes are the easiest to see) and daylight passes are not mentioned.

It really is a sight to see.
