Does this mean an Italian post-09/08/1943 armistice campaign? :jump: With Sicily invasion before, Salerno and Anzio landings, Monte Cassino battle and the tactical campaign in Northern Italy? Boy, oh boy! :redfire:

I have to go back and hurry up with sceneries, spurring Blood-Hawk23 for his trees and Allen for MVG3d's C.205 conversion and.....:running:

The only problem is that is smells too much like the 82nd Fighter Group that Captain Kurt just did recently. (But then again, both the 82nd and 52nd Fighter Groups were two of those who participated in Operation Frantic, so there is some crossover there, just like the 20th FG and 354th FG campaigns)

I wouldn't let that stop you Andrew. The 52nd and 82nd Groups had somewhat similar mission assignments at the same time yes, but markedly different aircraft. As such, they didn't have the long range type missions the 82nd had so it wasn't quite the same.

I have been tempted to do a USAAF Spitfire campaign before although I was looking at the 31st FG. They began a bit earlier than the 52nd, and flew Mark V, VIII and IX starting with the Dieppe Raid cover flights before going on to North African starting with Torch, and then the Italian campaign. They converted to Mustangs and were reassigned to the 15th Air force in March 1944 to fly strategic bomber escort duties.

But I promised Achim I would make a historical Jagdgeschwader campaign and I still have to make good on that before I do any additional campaigns. So It wouldn't be stepping on my toes any if you did the 52nd FG.

I was looking at the 31st Fighter Group as well and was intrigued by it, primarily because the 31st Fighter Group was involved in the Dieppe landings, Operation Torch, AND Operation Anvil / Dragoon. The 52nd Fighter Group was involved in Operation Torch only. It would be nice to "get our feet wet" with Dieppe, Anvil, and Torch, as these have not been covered in CFS2.

Because of the naval landings, I extended an offer to Devildog73, who is highly skilled in making landing operation missions for CFS2. He was the primary architect for the Salerno (Avalanche) and Anzio (Shingle) landings, and has the patience to lay out the ships for such an mission. Naval missions are just not my cup of tea.

If this goes forward, I think a collaboration with Devildog will be a nice return to the Tuskegee partnership.

If it does go forward, let me know if you can use a second partner for new airfields, historical aircraft liveries, etc. The current crop of Spit flight models are not very accurate :pop4: so you might want some new models developed for those too.

I will probably take you up on that....right now I am doing scenery and mission updates for everything in the Mediterranean, as I have done in Europe. (Nothing has been released just yet)

Following that, I have to install the 82nd, 354th, and Exporter campaigns and get them up-and-running, finish DamBusters, and then finally update Dombral's Mediterranean missions he sent me about three years ago...something that can be done now that we have the Whitley and the French coastal scenery I've been working on.

Once that is accomplished, then I'll back up all of my CFS2 installs once more and commence this project. I'm thinking the Spring / Summer of 2015.
