while working part-time at a gun store as a range officer you get to meet a lot of different people, especially law enforcement officers.

in chit-chatting with one,...without me mentioning that a friend of mine had built a 'potato cannon'....he brought up the subject on how the drive-by shootings in Los Angeles started.

seems either the Crips or Bloods were the first to use one to shoot at the opposite gang while driving by. up till then they only fought with their fists, chains, etc.. no guns.

after that 'prank' it became real guns.
