The current on-going recreation of the 1934 MacRobertson Air Race (which I'm very much enjoying taking part in) has me looking for other FSX scenery near to that era, 1930's to 1940's.

I'm familiar with:

- the 1934 MacRobertson scenery created by Jaap Van Hees (currently using it!)
- the scenery included with the Golden Age Simulations releases
- the Canadian BCATP scenery created by Flight Ontario
- the RAF airfields over at http://www.ianpsdarkcorner.co.uk/

The last two being military-focused, of course.

So what else am I missing? Is there anyone who's spent time creating civilian airfields from that era?

That's a tough period, scenery-wise, for FSX. Options that come to mind:

Old Rhinebeck (I know that's classic aircraft set in the modern period)
Garry Smith released some scenery as part of his Ford Trimotor project: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/scenery.htm Done for FS9, so anyone's guess how they'll work in FSX.
The great Bill Lyons Classic Golden Hawaii pack http://simviation.com/fs2004vintage39.htm Again, done for FS9, so likely some tinkering required to get it to work for FSX, if even at all workable - no idea.
Calclassic / Kenny Fox, I believe has some of the 40s Pan Am boat bases - again, FS2004.
Also for FS2004, I recall years ago a Schneider Trophy Race scenery with yachts, course markings, etc. Maybe ports over ...

That was one way in which FS9 shone - a dream I have is for a Golden Wings/Silver Wings type project that resets autogen to an older period like what was done for FS9 - one I am sure will never materalise in FSX.

Sorry not much help - hope you find something!
