wow I am really liking this new browser, and you would be blown away just how much it blocks, a little floating box tells you the crap and hidden links these honest companies don't want you to see what they feel they have the right to put on your computer, until caught, lol. Shame on you MS and google.

more pic's later

these companies get paid billions of dollars putting this crap on your computer against your will, when they should pay you for this parking violation.
I have a 15 MB internet and was wondering why it is so slow and was thinking on the 50 mb cable, now I know why and it is their fault, again they should be paying us. I remember when 56k was the normal before these companies ever existed.
Legal Criminals that is what it they are hiding behind a clause on their 500 page legal paper we are suppose to read before getting online.

I remember when I started in IT (it was Data Processing back then) at work I had a set of 4 9.6 KBS modems on a dedicated set of dial-up lines. That was state of the art in 1977. I was operations, so never really got into telecoms, but I remember that I thoght it was pretty quick.

Now I use Firefox and am pretty satisfied.

The internet used to be free, but now it is the playing ground of predatory capitalists putting a whole load of crap on our pc's...

Definitely going to try out that new browser!

I d/l this thing and told it to use the FF engine and it sniffed out all my bookmarks in FF automatically, scary.
Trying to "feel" my way around this new ground and am trying to figure out how to change my home page.
I use FF as my main and decline this avant thingie as my main browser (for now). Don't know of any plugins and addons
this has to offer but FF has butt-tons. Interesting browser. Thanks for the HU. :adoration:

The sniffing out is normal "Kiddo". It is actually a service that is being done for ya. And you pointed it out yourself during installation.

Nothing scary about it, it is called IT.

As per usual young feller, you seem to misunderstand my comment. The "scary" I referred to was meant to mean Unfamiliar - Okay?

It's called "new to me" and not Information technology (IT) Okay!!! Does it all have to relate to "IT"?

I wonder is CC will work with Avant or does it have it's own CC built in?

I loaded it this morning and have been playing with it. Seems to work pretty well, just have to get used to some of its quirks.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I did a review of the Avant Browser and read some interesting comments:

Avant Browser Summary: 6.5/10

Avant is a mediocre browser with some nice built-in features and customization options for a personalized interface. However, its lack of versatility, compatibility and comprehensive security can hinder usability and contributes to the browser’s lagging behind the competition. The Avant Browser seems best suited for users who want a Microsoft-based internet browser but are unimpressed with Internet Explorer’s current offerings.

Just installed it. Haven't gotten too deep in to it but I did fine it changed my IE-8 home page from about:blank to http://search.yahoo.com/?fr=avantsearch6. Not a good start....

I re-formatted my laptop yesterday, it had some kind of a bug, now I am running faster then I can remember and without avant.
I started looking at the stuff getting put on me and noticed 1700 item in 1 hour and really did not go anywhere, I got pissed and put in the factory disk and click factory reset, by by bug's:pop4:

I gave it a shot. Yes quite impressively fast compared to IE11, only one issue to report. It seems to borrow or sit upon IE in some way, for when I went back to IE all my automatic settings in entering forums like this one had been wiped out. Had to resort to the little book I keep with passwords. Aside from that seems OK. :banghead:

naismith, that was the thing I did not like either.
I did notice they had another browser setup to mimic chrome/firefox, maybe us ie users need that one

I didn't get/have what Naismith says with my IE.
