My install seems to be devoid of ai shipping, liners cargo vessels ect, ive check'd in my Settings/Display/Traffic and ive got my ships and ferries slider to max, but no show in the sim, ive got Leisure boats at 50% and there's a lot of them present, Ive also check'd in my Scenery/world/scenery folder and i have a "trafficBoats.bgl" only, does that cover all vessels, large and small, or am i missing something.
cheers ian

If you want additional traffic, check out the work of Henrik Nielsen (http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Author=Henrik+Nielsen).

The culprit in most instances when no AI shipping traffic shows is the existence of FS9 files e.g. WOAI files - of course you also need to look in the right place because the original FSX Ai ship traffic is not very dense. But, again the main problem is usually that the FS9 AI files prevent the FSX AI files from showing. To solve the problem you have to convert all FS9 AI traffic files for ships as well as airplanes to FSX format using e.g. AIFP - it can be done in a few minutes once AIFP is installed, so it is not a big deal. You can find further instructions in the manuals to my AI ship traffic available through the link above.

Thanks for the info on this, i decided to check out Henrik Nielsen (http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Author=Henrik+Nielsen). and now i have ships aplenty, all wonderfully detailed and no hit on frames. took my latest payware up for a half hour sortie down the English channel to go ship spotting :wavey:
