I like seaplanes, especially the big ones. With the sale on at PC Aviator Australia I was looking at the Short Sunderland package from First Class Simulations. If anybody has the plane I'd like to know how you like it. Thanks in advance for any comments, pro or con.

Just from looking at the screenshots I would never buy it.. The exterior textures are just aweful!

Have a read of this thread over at CBFSim http://cbfsim.co.uk/cbfs_bb/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=20777 and then buy something else :jump:

I bought this thing when it was on sale a while back. The FDE is OK but the textures are just plain bad as noted above. Lost money on that deal.

I'll admit to buying it for (IIRC) $A5.00 as part of a '$10.00 2 for 1 sale' deal.
And I'll also admit that I was unsurprised at the end product.
Textures are pretty sad and that is unfortunate, because it flies quite well.

It no longer resides on my HD.

I have never ever knocked any product but this one, I leave the box up on the wall as a trophy on my dumbness buying.

Thank you everybody for your replies. That's certainly enough feedback to make a purchase decision, LOL. I'll go with Stuart Greene's freeware Sunderland in FS9.

A wise choice indeed.
If you don't mind the 'Civilian' boats the give Jens Kristensen's Short Empire series a go.

Thanks for the heads-up, the civilian flying boats are fine with me, I will check out the Short Empire.
I see at Flightsim.com that Jens has others too. I had forgotten what a large body of work he has compiled.
