Hello all,

The file in the Italian aircraft section CFS3P108b, gives a splendid version of the actual bomber. However, when I play it in ETO there is no bomb loadout as advertised, the aircraft has a 'clean' status only when it comes to armament. I could be wrong, but wasn't there a Piaggio 108b with Italian bomb loadouts here at one point? I love the aircraft, but there is little to do with this one but go sightseeing off of the coast. Any thoughts?

You could try adding whatever you like to the xpd file. For example this is taken from the SM79:

<Loadouts InternalPylons="1">
<Loadout Name="Clean" MissionType="Escort,CAP,Intercept,Sweep,Nothing,Bomber_Intercep t"/>
<Loadout Name="(5)250Kg Bombs 1" MissionType="Strike,Anti_ship">
<Hardpoint ID="0" PylonType="it_Sm79_250kg_pylon" PayloadType="AvHistory_it_bomb__250kg1_Vertical" Quantity="31"/>
</Loadout>
<Loadout Name="(5)250kg Bombs 2" MissionType="Strike,Anti_ship">
<Hardpoint ID="0" PylonType="it_Sm79_250kg_pylon" PayloadType="AvHistory_it_bomb__250kg2_Vertical" Quantity="31"/>
</Loadout>
<Loadout Name="(12)100Kg Bombs 1" MissionType="Strike,Anti_ship,Search_Destroy">
<Hardpoint ID="0" PylonType="it_Sm79_100kg_pylon" PayloadType="AvHistory_it_bomb__100kg1_Vertical" Quantity="4095"/>
</Loadout>
<Loadout Name="(12)100Kg Bombs 2" MissionType="Strike,Anti_ship,Search_Destroy">
<Hardpoint ID="0" PylonType="it_Sm79_100kg_pylon" PayloadType="AvHistory_it_bomb__100kg2_Vertical" Quantity="4095"/>
</Loadout>
<Loadout Name="(672)2kg Bomblets" MissionType="Search_Destroy">
<Hardpoint ID="0" PylonType="it_Sm79_spezzoni_pylon" PayloadType="AvHistory_it_bomb____2kg_1_spezzone" Quantity="268435455"/>
</Loadout>
</Loadouts>

Worked like a charm. Thanks guys, never knew you could modify any aircraft like this. However, I just noticed on landing that there is no tailwheel. Not nitpicking or anything, but its normal for this model right?

:wavey:I see it, the tail wheel looks just fine on my rig.

Perhaps it's just an LOD issue. Have you tried zooming your view in a bit?

Also possibly the aircraft detail slider neds to be increased, or the config settings for aircraft model rendering, or a missing shared .dds texture (unlikely, tho).

I'll try zooming it for a bit the next time around, thanks

Always run config with the aircraft slider on "5" so's not to miss
any of the amazing detail the authors put into these planes...

...also, does anyone recall what file to edit so the AI gunners in
the '108' might improve their skill level to
something above utterly blind ? (even I'm not THAT bad... :untroubled:)

cheers

Hi Pops,

its a combination of pilot skill settings in the mission/QC mission, and modifying the "rate limit" in the gunstations section of the aircraft's xdp file. any rate limit above 30 becomes rather pesky.

Then you can modify the relevant gun.xdp file for the gunstation, and reduce the noise. A noise level of 0.1 will make the AI gunner a real sniper. Then you can in the same file increase the range paramter, say out to 500 (which a lot of the Av History guns have anyway).

Once you have increased the rate limit, range and decreased the noise you'll never get anywhere near the Piaggio :redfire:

I remember the nasty shock when I first introduced one of the Av History B-17s...... the 50 cal gunners wasted anything within 500 yards (or meters or whatever the darn unit of measure is for the gun xdp file). IIRC the rate limit in the aircraft's xdp file was set to 100!!!
