Anyone fly this airplane? I was going through Ito San's creations on flightsim.com and came across this little jewel. I don't really remember seeing anything in the forum about it, but it's actually a pretty nice airplane. Actually has a pretty decent VC although I'm working to enhance it a bit. . .sounds are aliased to the Lear, but that's easily changed and the flight dynamics aren't bad either, but I'm sure beyond my own needs that's something that would be debated I'm sure.

Quite a few have been refitted for civilian use, many right here in the US

"Contrary to popular belief, however, the business-jet era in the U.S. actually began not with the delivery of the first Lear 23 in 1964, but in 1958, when Timken Roller Bearing of Canton, Ohio, took delivery of a four-seat Morane-Saulnier MS 760 Paris jet, a French military trainer. (Propeller-driven business aviation took wing after Charles Lindbergh's solo trans-Atlantic flight in 1927.) Two U.S.-built military transport jets, the North American Sabreliner and Lockheed JetStar, also entered service before Bill Lear's baby was certified."

I first saw Timken's Paris in Montreal about 1960-61 and fell in love with it. Now I get to enjoy Ito's version. The sound does need replacement ( something that screams more - the Marbores were a bit shrill! - and closer to the cockpit).

There are some great links out there including one fine (Sean Doran, where are you?) paint scheme. Here's a few:

And there's one lovely payware addon for x-plane of the prototype-only Paris III!

Yep, a few touch ups and I'll post it here. Probably tomorrow some time. The Panel (2D and VC) will take a bit longer, but I'll get that posted here as well.

Gonna upload this stuff this afternoon sometime. It will include the livery shown ( a rw livery by the way from a private US owner) plus a new VC cockpit layout and a matching 2d cockpit layout with new bitmaps to replace the blurry original.

While I'm sorting out an upload problem here, I'll post a direct link to the zip:

I've done one more livery I found on airliners.net. With over 300 views and only one request for the previous livery, I have to assume this isn't a real popular airplane. I'll post this other paint and that'll conclude this thread.

One final note to anyone who might have downloaded the first livery:
the 2d bitmap was inadvertently saved as a 32bit texture which doesn't work for that bitmap, so I have included a replacement in the current zip file which I just uploaded here at SOH. Sorry for the screw up.

The JetSet paint is great!
Sadly the plane hasn't attracted a lot of attention (because it's French? slow? old?) but it was one sweet machine. Should the lottery ever fall my way it would be high on my dream list - til then I guess it's FS9.

Gotta get the new comp. running so I can see it again.

Thanks Rob, yea, this would be on my list to have as well. . .actually a very nice looking airplane. I know the FDE on this is probably way off, but 400+ isn't bad speed for what it is. At any rate it has become a favorite of mine for FS9 and the new VC bitmap helps the interior look a bit better.
Enjoy!
