...........while looking through the electronic index of the NY Public library, I found that there appear to be two new books becoming available that might be of interest to some here. One is titled "Lords of the Skies" by Dan Hampton. This tells the authors story of how " Fighter Pilots changed the course of history. From the Red Baron to the F-16" That is from the jacket!
The other book is the "Forgotten Fifteenth." by Barrett Tillman. This is the story of the force that had to do the Polesti Raid as well as others on the Reichs oil fields and production facilities.

So check your locals and see if they have them available.

BTW: I know "...Bombers make history!":wavey:

I have one to add to that.

I've been reading a book that was in my wife's Grandfather's collection.

Full Circle -The Tactics of Air Fighting 1914-1964, by Group Captain J. E. "Johnny" Johnson
my copy is from 1968

Its pretty good. Covers WWI, SCW, WWII both ETO and MTO, and Korea. A short and very interesting read.

you can still find them on amazon...
