Hi Dave,
Thanks for this. I might just get the 103 base for my Mirage 2000 as it's showing these parked up.

I must admit that I remove the statics and use AI traffic instead.
The MAIW packages work just fine.

Hi Dave,
Well I got 103 and not a base for my 2000C, she fits in very well. Thanks Timm

MAIW French Mirages
Hi,
What package do you use? I have had a look at the one that I would like BUT looks like its only for FS9. Timm

They are for FS9 - but, if you're wanting the Mirage 2000 packages, you can get FSX glass textures for all of them at The Owl's Nest (http://www.owlsnest.eu/maiw.php).
The Mirage F1 seems alright as-is. Photos of them at Champagne-Reims in another thread.

For all of them, it's just a question of getting the appropriate bases.

Do remember to convert the traffic files to FSX, or you'll lose all your AI.

One thing. Skydesigners don't put any parking codes in their bases, so you either have to place the codes yourself or simply live with unexpected parking.

I've done the same to add more activity. My favorite base by SkyDesigners is Solenzara. It's my favorite French base anyway but having it by them is just icing on the cake.

Jonathan used to hook me up with copies so I could take screenshots to promote them on my site but suddenly stopped communicating. I keep announcing them as they are released though.

Great French Air Base sceneries in any case. Even better at a discounted price.

That's one I don't have.
I did notice that the static Alphajets at Cazaux are a different size from the MAIW AI versions. Looked very strange, so they had an 'accident'.

Solenzara doesn't seem to have any AI at all. Certainly haven't seen any MAIW traffic turn up there yet. It's a shame, as there are all those lovely empty parking slots.

I'm now doing some flight plans to put over 50 Mirage F1CRs and F1CTs there (Exercise Raving Nutter), plus some refuelling support.
Might add some Mirage 2000s as well.

There are no assigned units. Maybe a rescue chopper unit? Maybe that's why MAIW hasn't done anything there?
But it is host to plenty of NATO visitors using the nearby Diana gunnery range and the area out over the Med for towed target shooting practice.

The Metal2Mesh Mirage 2000 looks right at home with the SkyDesigner scenery for Zara.

Looking forward to your huge Mirage gathering.

I also love this Skydesigners - BA126 Solenzara base!

Yes, it is an interesting thing, because the sharp shooting exercise Mirages
I contacted the MAIW team, I asked for traffic file but they said there is no active stocks at the base :banghead:

As a lot of aircraft would be there to use the range, I'm concentrating on Mirage F1s and Mirage 2000Ns.
There may be the odd Mirage 2000C/B from Cambrai - come to do some ACM in clear air over the Med.

ACM = the sport of certifiable lunatics!

Hi Dave,
From you shots of Solenzara I had to get. And what a nice little Air base this is. Have not yet found the range but once TACPACK is installed/added I think we might see some live firing there. I noticed when I was taxid down to take off that I saw some of the static Aircraft along with the weapons truck have a load of small blue bombs etc and thought what are they doing in there, but once I saw the YouTube clip from zsoltquack that answered my question.

Yeah, well you follow off the coast line and see the firing range

It's only just begun. I've had to adjust the MIL_CARGO parking spots for width, in order to get the big birds in - as can be seen.
All the MIL_CARGO spots are 15-metres in width. One has to be changed to 22-metres (KC-135), one to 20-metres (C-130) and one to 18-metres (C-160) or they won't show.

Problem. Where have all the buildings gone? All I did was widen the parking spots and recompiled. Weird.

Maybe the enlarged parking spots have collided with the buildings? You don't always have to park at the end of a yellow line.
How about parking the KC-135 and cargo types on the opposite (east) side of the concrete strip?

Afraid not. They're nowhere near - and all buildings have disappeared, including the hangars right down the other end.
If I put the original BGL back everything is back where it should be.

It's as if the recompile loses the links to all the other BGLs, even though they're all still in the correct directory.

I'll get there.

:ernaehrung004:

There are only 48 mil_combat parking slots, out of a total of 52. :very_drunk:

I can't change anything about the base scenery, as it's a commercial product.
I've had to cheat to get the 'heavies' in at all.
