All Virtavia products are ** HALF PRICE ** for the rest of May !! Your favourite vendors will now be listing all our models at 50% of their usual price. This is a perfect opportunity to try out some of the more unusual models like the R3Y Tradewind and B-45 Tornado, and also grab some of the older titles for next to nothing. Hurry - sale must end 31st May !

Also: May 20 :
Version 1.1 of the B-29 Superfortress out now. The update fixes several minor issues with the exterior model only, the VC and the flight dynamics are unchanged. The main changes are - adding red bar to Korean War variants' insignia, increasing propeller diameter, making the prop spinners reflective, fixing F9 vc view keypress issue. Look out at for v1.1 in your download area at the site where you purchased the model. Some vendors may send out an e-mail alert to all owners of the model. The new file is the complete package, not a patch, so the old model should be uninstalled first.

Oh Darn...just bought the B-29 two weeks ago. But did get the F-5E and F-89 for a half, so all is good.

How does the f-5E compare with Piglet's freeware and/or the MilViz T-38?

The F-5E is a much older sim than the T-38. It has a fairly primitive VC, but a nice 2D panel.

Interestingly enough, and if I recall correctly, both were made by Milviz.

Be sure to refresh your B-29 download. v1.1 was made available earlier this week.

Thanks for the heads-up. I got it at PC Aviator...just waiting for the update to get there.

I didn't know that. But comparing the F-5E and the T-38 is sort of like the apples and oranges thing. I like the old F-5E...it's a fun thing to "fly" and I like a good 2D panel. I still use 2Ds as well as the VC. The T-38 is a really great simulator aircraft. The VC is really impressive. It does not have a 2D panel, like almost all the newer airplanes in FSX. That's okay, I made one for it. I can't comment on the accuracy of the planes' flying characteristics, but the F-5E is much easier to operate than the T-38. When I'm "flying" the T-38 I have to pay close attention to what's going on, or else I get into real trouble. Of course, that is certainly true when actually flying any real airplane.

Tempted to go for the Scimitar and the B-29. Will read a few reviews before I decide!

Just got the Apache as HTR has a profile for it, flies very nice, would also recommend the F-105 now that an airfile mod and mirror removal mod has been uploaded to this site by a bunch of guys who are ex military.
