:wavey:...........and I came across this site. http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/P-40/P-40.html Have any of you guys looked at this before? Sure had a lot of performance data on the different versions of the P-40. At the bottom were operating instructions nad specification sheets. Really neat to reference.
Almost forgot the home addy of this source..... http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/ ..:wavey:

fibber,

I encountered something very similar when I was researching the Tuskegee Airmen Campaign information for my choice of P-40s to use.

I found the KMs to be the most accurate to the stats that were like those you found.

...by chance, did you look at the Home Page? There were flight performance stats there for ALL sorts of planes. Not just Allied or the P-40's.

.........in fact I did not previously see that. What i was reading were the flight test reports that were filed. I did see that the zip you posted seemed to be a synopsis of some of the conclusions of those reports. Some models of the P-40 when handled expertly seemed to be able to beat the zero. Even in turning fights, as long as the pilot kept insitu awarness.

Hi all,
Some more P-40 info by Erik Shilling, Flying Tigers. I found his comparisons quite interesting.
