Seems you forgot this day in History.

16 B25's tookoff from the deck of the USS Hornet and bombed Japan.

I watched 30 Seconds Over Tokyo today and some actual footage I have of the Planes taking of from Hornet.This footage is from one of the crew of the Hornet and to my knowledge not seen on the History or the Military Channels..At least I've never seen it on them.

Thanks for the reminder. It was a great, brave, action those men undertook. I don't remember seeing anything in the news (aviation or otherwise) about it this year.

Maybe everyone was expecting Doolittle missions and not some History.Sorry to disappoint you.Those missions were done many years ago.

This was a bold and very high risk endeavor. I doubt the politicians today would have the backbone or imagination to even attempt something of the same magnitude today. Every man on that mission expected they would have a high probability of dying but went anyway. Heroes every one. :encouragement:
