Hello again,

I would like to know where do your first fly your new downloads from.
I fly the new planes fir the first time at Midway.
For these reasons:
It has many types of targets you can try weapons or guns on.
It's in the middle of the sea, miles from anywhere, and I can easily fly over water and take screenshots without the horrid CFS2 greenery and sand below.
It has 3 runways I can land on if I choose to do so.
Which airfield do YOU use?

In the attached image you can see my course from the bomb explosions at Midway....
The 3 large hangars at right were destroyed on a previous run.
Theship far out enter was destroyed, etc...

The aircraft was a Bregeuet 19 of the Spanish civil war.... It drops sticks of 8 bombs and then you can see the explosions in a line as they burst on the ground....

the reason.... mmm there are a bunch of airports around the sound...
good for screenshots over water, land, you name it...
and very easy to do "hit and runs from one airport to the other"...
used to use Jacksonville NAS... for carrier landings... had one carrier loitering
about 200 miles off shore...

Jinx,

I use Midway as well for mostly the same reasons you do.

Gaucho,

That is an fs9 field, in't it?
I meant in CFS2.

In fs9 I fly out of LGAT Athens. Same in FSX.

As you know, the graphics environment of FS9 is more detailed than CFS2...
so, unless the model cannot be flown in FS9... (I use it to see the effect of
my paintwork...) when I need to use CFS2 I use Midway... because it has a
nice turn around for touch and go flights... and pretty much the same reasons
as you all...

Jinx,

It depends on the theatre and the nationality of the aircraft.

Flying a German fighter from Biggin Hill just seems wrong to me.

Gaucho,

For testing repaints I also fly in fs9.
Now I test one in fs9 but the prop is missing there so when I repaint the prop I will have to see it in cfs2.

Rami:

You probably have all the airfields in the world and a few more beyond this world to boot.... I only have the stock cfs2 till I install others.
So I cannot fly German ac in Germany or French ones in France, etc etc--all flies in the default scenery..
till I manage courage to install more sceneries from your guide.

Gaucho: Forgot to mention I signed up at a French kit forum to ask about the fat man's insignia, but I cannot post images for 7 days as a new member--a stupid regulation, in my view...
Will see what Roger discovers....perhaps tonight?

It varies by theater as I have multiple installs. But for the PTO I usually use Henderson if I am just trying the plane out, not trying to accomplish anything specific.

I agree, it does vary by theater, but for the PTO I haven't found anything to beat Uncle Tgt's Carolines, New Britain and New Ireland scenery based on Rhumba's mesh and Jean Bomber's coral reefs. Truk is my favorite. Hands down.

Midway is my primary. Other times I use Henderson. Munda is my AI landing and AI wingmen ground target attack test place.
