This one deserves a separate post I think.

July 18, 1944 - Feldwebel Otfried Baisch stalks his second victory, a B-17. But within minutes of shooting down his B-17, the hunter became the hunted as American escort fighters caught Baisch and shot him down, killing him.

This is the Team Daedalus / Akemi Fw190A8-R8 12 JG3, not a painting. I just wanted to show the quality standard we have been able to achieve thanks to Akemi's Fw's. I superimposed it over a background of some B-17s taken from an IL-2 skin post by Emden and added some clouds.

Simply magnificent, Captain Kurt!

I brought this is up already.

I see your work of art is still using my old blurred prop disc texture. Since Team Dedalus announced this splendid project, I updated my previous 256 x 256 bit version of Akemi's FW190A-5 blurred disc and I am willing to send it over to you to include it in the project, if you wanted me to. I wonder if Team Dedalus used the simpler 256 x 256 blurred disc texture, Akemi used for the A-5, on all models refurbished.

I am asking this because the other more complex 512 x 512 texture, which includes the gunsight and Akemi used on the majority of his creations including his A-8 and D-9, is a pain in the rear-end to work with. The prop disc lays in the top left quadrant of the texture, instead of using the entire 256 x 256 frame. Centering it is a matter of trial-and-error, it kills one's eyesight and I don't even remember how I managed to get it right the first time around.

If you replaced the 512 x 512 with the simpler 256 x 256 texture, I have it already and I can mail it to the address you'll want to indicate.

Cheers!

Thank you Kelti.

We chose to standardize all the props to one file. I'm pretty sure it's your 512x512 with the prop in the upper left, but we picked it almost 2 years ago so I'm operating from memory right now. This allowed Gary to duplicate one of Akemi's model props to all of the models. This particular prop model animates the spinner and maps it to a texture that allows me to paint all the various spinner decorations used. The 256x256 texture goes with a prop and spinner that isn't animated and isn't mapped to a texture that can have more than a single color. So it isn't suitable. This is the prop texture we are using.

If you have an updated version of this one, I'd be happy to have it. But otherwise, this one is still a pretty nice upgrade. Let me know, k?

Yeah, that's my nightmare prop texture allright! :dread:

OK, I'll work on it again, but I do not guarantee to have it ready for the release of the beauties you announced. In the worse case scenario, I'll upload it afterwards as an addon pack.

Cheers!
