Hello,

I am repainting the new Shessi\Lampard Me410.

The new scheme is a Me 410A-3 of 2 (F) Staffel/ Aufklarungsgrupper 122, operational in Italy in the winter of 1943/44.

If anyone wants to see it, send me a pm with your email address as I have failed to attach my screenshot here 2 times I tried.

If you can tell me how to attach the screenshot (jpg), please do so.

Let us see of this works:

Kelticheart,

:wavey:I am doing this repaint for you especially because I think I read somewhere that you wanted a skin for your Italy game version.
So please consider this effort as a gesture of gratitude for all the files you have given us.

Having lots of fun doing it, too. Nothing like creative work...

In fact I am doing two skins: one in the image uploaded, from a profile, which had thick panel lines and shine along the wing tops and nacelles and a 2nd version of it, from scratch and completlely mine, that will be finer and more sedate looking with refined weathering and thin panel lines and some stencil markings on the wing tops and no shine.

I will upload both versions, so you can have both.

If you cannot wait, pm me your email address and I will send you the one that is ready now. I know that feeeling of "can't wait" myself. I waited for years for a Westland Wyvern and now there are two, one for fs9 and one for fsx. I do not know if there is one for CFS2.
:very_drunk:

Thanks for the help on how to upload attachments. I tried it and it worked! Image is here at last.

Nick from Athens, sunny today....

Best Regards to KC and all...

Thank you for the kind comments, sir. :tranquillity:

Compared to airplane designers, scenery makers, mission/campaign creators, conversion experts and, ultimately, repainters, considering most of the people here have more than just one of the aforementioned skills, in all truth what I returned in exchange of all the wonderful addons I downloaded over the years is not that much.
Nevertheless, I am quite glad people enjoy what I can contribute with.

By the way, I just uploaded alternative props for this babe. Go grab them if you like them!

May I ask you if you know of a bomber-zerstorer A1/U2 repaint of a unit flying from Italy? I am reading accounts of several fights occurred between Me410s attacking 15th U.S.A.A.F. bomber formations, on their way to German occupied territories and Germany itself, and escorting fighters. All of the 15th U.S.A.A.F. fighter groups tangled with Me410's. Allied pilot's accounts describe this aircraft as a tough opponent, even for a single-engined lighter fighter plane.

Right now I am using VB's much older model equipped as a fighter version in this theatre, but Shessi hinted a dedicated Me410A1/U2, derived from this bomber version, could soon fly in our skies.

Cheers!

KC,

Thanks for the feedback.

I will look for what you want and if I find it, I will do a skin for you.

Please send me the links for the prop files for this Me410 and for the VB planes Me410. That can be repainted also, but I have to have it first.

I am attaching an image that shows the more sedate, refined scheme on the top left wing uppers and the other one from the profile on the starboard wing uppers. You can compare the difference. I will need to do the stabs also, so it is far from finished right now.

More soon,

Nick

Captain Kurt,

I could not find the Me410 pack 2 you are talking of and went through the pages of German CFS2 aircraft.

Any links?

Hi Nick!

There's no need for you to download VB's model. Unless, of course, you want it for your CFS2 collection. Look at this:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?86124-New-CFS2-Messeschmitt-Me410A1-Hornisse&p=875211&viewfull=1#post875211

Shessi is developing the Zerstorer variant with additional 20mm cannons, so there will not be any need for adding the ventral gun pod via dp file to the A-1 bomber. This would create a problem because, when flying the aircraft in bomber configuration the muzzle flashes of the gun pod would show up when firing guns, even if the pod is not there. The only solution would be installing two complete aircrafts with different dp files.

With Shessi's work we'll have dedicated variants of the new Hornisse! Splendid job with the repaint :encouragement:, the photo-realistic side from the profile would not look very good, in fact photographic liveries never worked right in CFS2.

I only have a question: since I noticed your screenshots show FS2004-style navigational lights on the Me410, are painting for the civilian simulator version? If so, I hope you are aware of the "reflective" livery issues standing between FS2004 and much older CFS2. I have no problems converting DXT3 "reflective" repaints to CFS2-compatible textures, but some people here might be surprised at seeing their aircraft showing up with a ghost-like transparency after installing your repaint.

Captain Kurt:

Thanks for the info! I have WD22's packs #1 and #2, but the only A1/U2 fighter repaint depicts an aircraft flown by 1/KG 51 out of Beauvais, France, in 1944. WD22's skin for the Hornisse flying out of Comiso is for an A1 bomber.

I hope I am not pushing too much the request, since I have no info about Me410 units based in Italy from the Sept. 8th, 1943 armistice onwards, it might very well be that Me410A1/U2 Zerstorer units were never based south of the Alps.

Cheers!

KC,

I just flew my repaint in CFS2, over Midway, and I attach a screenshot.

I saw no problem with the textures whatsoever.

And I have never seen the problem you speak of in CFS2.

I think I will go ahead and upload it tonight.

Cheers,

Nick

Hello, I just uploaded my Me-41o repaint, based or the original model by Christ Lampard and Shessi.

I made a mistake hwoever and put it in the German aircraft category instead of in the German skins category.
If Anyone can rectify that and move it to the proper category, I would be grateful.

I hope the repaint works for you.

Rami,

I wonder if you can help.

I have uploaded 2 zips of a repaint of the Me410 Hornisse.
The newest is ok. The older one contains a mistake in the text file.
The text file says:

[fltsim.xxx]
title=Me 410A-3/2 (F) Staffel/ Aufkl.Gr. 122
sim=Me410A1
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=
atc_id=F6WK
atc_airline=AIR FORCE
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer=Messerschmitt
ui_type=Me410A-3
ui_variation=Me 410A-3/2 (F) Staffel/ Aufkl.Gr. 122
atc_heavy=0
description= A twin engined high speed light bomber/ fighter bomber and destroyer. Developed from the failed Me210 for the well liked Me110, and became a mid war sucessful aircraft. As quick as the early versions of the Mosquito, but again was failed to be developed and so lagged behind later allied twin engined aircraft.

In the red line, the letter t is missing. It must be corrected to:

title=Me 410A-3/2 (F) Staffel/ Aufkl.Gr. 122

Can you correct that, or perhaps delete the older zip. The newer zip is ok.

If you cannot, who could? The webmaster perhaps?

Let me know please.

Gaucho,

It looks very nice.

Two suggestions:

The 2 rectangular parts at the trailing edge of the wings outboard of the engines should be the same camo color of the wing--the greem you have--and not darker.

The stencil markings are not red. See my images and download the psd with the correct ones here:

http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/downloads/markings/3/special-german-markings-159/

That site has many useful files you can download in psd form, all great help.

Do you use photoshop? If so, make some of the layers invisible, then choose the stencil, then use the rectangular marquee tool and select only one marking, then copy it marged into a new file with trnasparent background, save that and then use that to copy it from onto the top wing and adjust the size from the Image TAB\Size till you get it small enough to look right. Save the final one in the correct size you arrived at.

You should upload it here when done--people will want it.

I would also change the grey camo color to a darker shade. Similar to the profile here--color of top nacelle will help.
Is this the profile you repainted from?

If you want files and more help, pm me with you normal email address.

Nick
