After seeing Ted's shots in FsX I decided to give it a go in Dx10 fixer:

I have installed it into P3D V2 and with the default plane there is the usual problem with the portover props But I think I have a workaround. Haven't installed the other plane yet .... will do that later today.

It's a great looking aircaft with Nigel paint job. Darkened the prop alphas will fix the props. Like to try to run DX10, but my (AMD) vid driver crashes, but works fine in DX9. It maybe a REX setting.

Let me ask a dumb question or two: will this be a FSX or P3D port-over (or both)? and what is it being 'ported' from. I searched 'Harpoon' and 'Shupe', and only got a FS9 Howard 500 repaint (!?)

More info can be found in the FS2004 forums under...
A Lockheed "Rounder" (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?60836-A-Lockheed-quot-Rounder-quot/page51)

It's currently a FS9 wip model by Milton Shupe

As it's an fs9 project it will be a basic port-over. How it performs in P3D versions is uncertain but it looks good in FsX and in FsX Dx10 with glass and prop alpha modifications.

The basic FS9 WIP package can be found here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=6&linkid=18243

That is the PV-2D with the Olathe texture. In the description is a link to the Attu Warrior as an add-on to that package.

The is a WIP "fun" release; it is a little crude, has missing stuff in the cockpit, but is generally a fun, hand-flyable piece with excellent sounds and flight model.

The Attu Warrior scheme add-on is not yet completed, but is a good start.

Since the exterior model is completed, a paint kit is available in the FS9 library for the C and D models of this Harpoon.

No feedback is necessary; its a WIP and we know what needs to be done, but we cannot get back on it until May. So, in the interest of all those simmers who have helped and supported this "stalled" project in the FS9 forum, it was released for a little fun in the sun.

There is a basic checklist in the Docs folder.

If you are having problems searching for our stuff in the library, try this:

Just have fun :-)

Thank you, Gentlemen - all is revealed.
Great stuff (as usual), Milton!

I haven't seen this mentioned yet so I'll put it out there. I loaded it into P3D Ver2.1 and while the aircraft itself looks great (no surprise there, it's a Milton Shupe design), there is no clickability in the virtual cockpit. Sadly, I've found that a lot of my favorite aircraft (heavily favoring Milton's creations) have this problem. No idea if it can be fixed, but I've tried everything I know to find a reason for it.

Hmmm . . . a PV-1+1. WIP or not, it will be good coming from Shupe & co.

Well, thank you. A PV-1 Lodestar L-18 Civvie and C-56/57/59/60A Military variants are also in the works, and a PV-1 Vega Ventura has been on my desk all day. :wiggle:

Oo-yes please! Would love a civvie Lodestar here - especially a BOAC or (NZ) NAC variety. :wavey:

I tried it in P3Dv2hf1 and it looks great. I also love the rumbling sound.
Ed, I can confirm that the switches are not operating by mouse click in the VC.
I altered the dark prop alpha channel by the way, if anyone is interested I can post the replacement file here.
Maybe the glass alpha could also use a little treatment, it's a bit dark from the outside. The usual port over candidates.

Cheers,
Mark

Posting the changed alpha textures would be very nice Mark. Many would like to fly in P3D and will save many considerable time and effort.

OK, here we go, the alternative (lighter) FSX/P3D propeller file:

Just copy the original file and replace it with the new one in the archive.

Cheers,
Mark

OK, here we go on another one, the alternative (lighter) FSX/P3D glas file for the cockpit windows:

Same as above, just copy the original file and replace it with the new one in the archive.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Mark. I had good results with the Venzeniones AC 690 spinprop.bmp but will give yours a whirl!. Ashamed to say I have been flying for some time (in my POSKY/TDS/FSX 787 BBJ) from England to get to Henderson field (a few hours there ..) , where I am jumping into Milton & Co's wonderful Lockheed Harpoon! What a charismatic aircraft and fun to fly! Also going to give Margie a go around the Solomons . .

Outstanding! My dad flew the Ventura in the Pacific during WWII. I'll be looking forward to it :jump:
