Man this is frustrating..Hard lockup..no task manager access..Have to hard reboot..
patch 4.02..pf only no il2 series..
P4 2.6
1 gig ram
ati x800 gto
onboard sound.

Don't take this wrong but did you accidently put the merged patch on? If not I wouldn't know as I only have the merged on mine.

Thats a logical question, but no i was careful to install correct patch..game ran fine for a couple of days now it freezes hard..even while watching Tracks..

I wish I could help you but you might have to reinstall it.
I've never any problems with IL2 anytime like you're having.

From a thread over on the UBI Forums:
There's a p4 optimised .dll in the latest patch. If you're an AMD user it will not be used. If you're a P4 user, there's a small chance it will cause crash to desktop or lockup, as not all P4's can take advantage of the optimisation. There's instructions in the readme file that came with Patch 4.02/4.02m for replacing it if you have issues with the optimised version.

The only file in the 4.02 patch folder that i see is a Bat self installer file..
I've seen this reference about read me with patch..mm
I will look at the readme in my UBI folder..

It's there in the IL-2FB root directory as Readme_v402 after you've installed the patch...let me know if you need it and I can email it.
