Jug for the Marianas

I saw a mention of the work on the upcoming Maraianas scenery somewhere else, and thought 'Wasn't Saipan part of the Marianas?'.
Saipan was where the 19th FS was based, and they flew P-47's from the island (and in order to get there, they took off from an aircraft carrier!), so I thought I'd revisit an old friend, the A2A P-47.

still a few details to sort, but getting there. I have good reference material for quite a few more 19th FS Jugs, would you like to have more for use on the scenery or is one enough?

You bet Saipan is part of the Marianas. The Marianas 1945 Scenery will be released tomorrow or probably Monday. It will work in both FSX and P3D v1.4. Not good in P3D v2. I will bring out my old A2A Jug and this paint will be a must for flying from Guam to the northern tip of the Maug Islands.

I also noticed something with these jugs.
I assumed that the letters on these aircraft were individual letters, but going through all my pictures, I noticed several aircraft with an E or F, or C etc. I found three Paduzi's for example, Big, Little and Super, all with an M. Could it be that the 19th FS used these letters not as individual letters, but as flight codes or something like that? Does anyone know?
