Hi...Welcome...A few things...

1) E8600 @ 3.33 is way better
2)Boost ram
3)Vid card 4800 series
4)drop the sound card

I see this is a factory out the box HP........You could build twice the rig yourself with the same money......

Its by no means a bad rig..But it will have very little options to upgrade....Plus the boxes are mid tower and will not cool very well

There are better options out there......

Let us know your thoughts on building one or hunting a better gaming rig that does not have all the bloatware thats better suited for upgrades..

Where do you live ? What part of the country?

Again...Welcome to the forums

If you think you have time, and really want to I would suggest building your own. I did it, and I'm only 17 years old. It's a very rewarding experience, waaaay easier than I was expecting, and you get exactly what you want inside the computer. Youtube, and the SOH archives are both invaluable tools. Other than that, I'll echo Harleyman on the soundcard and Ram situation. I'm using onboard sound with 2 speakers and a sub-woofer and the quality is great.

I'll 3rd what Harley and djscoo said :typing: Building your own is very easy and rewarding and in some cases cheaper (depends on the hardware you buy):friday:

As you are in Texas I'd recommend that you speak with Txnetcop on these forums. He could advise you and build and set up the PC for a very reasonable fee and you will end up with a computer that will run FSX better and most likely cheaper than an off the shelf product. :)

E7500 is not great for gaming. The E8400, E8500, E8600 are much better for gaming. What motherboard are you planning on using? Also you would be better off using the HD4850 or HD4870 for ATI and does not cost much more. You will have a grossly bottle-necked system with a 128 bit interface in FSX. It may run other games but not that great. Also FSX requires 256 bit interface minimum to run well. You using Vista which in itself will run better on a 256 bit or better interface. I also recommend using PC2-8400 1066 mhz memory over 800 if you overclock at all.

Y'all have given me a lot to think about, maybe the best way is to built my computer. If its not too much trouble maybe my fellow Texan can list what components, I would use for a mid price ($500- $900) computer.
Thanks All!
