38023803I have problems with the textures of many of the planes I'm using. I've included several examples, please note the dark textures on the A/C. Any thoughts? Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for taking a look,

msfossey

couple questions first.

What operating system?
What Graphics card?
what version of directX?
What graphic settings are you using in game?

something to check...
what format are the textures in? The could be in DXT format which could explain it. open the texture folder and see if you can see the thumbnail image. if you do then its not a DXT format.

It may be your graphics card having issues with the lighting but I'm only guessing.

We'll need someone else to answer this one I think.

Hey Blood Hawk,

Looked for the info you asked about and did the best I could, I'm not very technical though.

Using: AMD FX 8120 Eight-Core Processor, 3.11 GHz, with 3.50 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 520. Using Windows XP Professional w/SP3.

Global Settings:

Ambient Occlusion – Quality
Anisotropic filtering – 8X
Antialiasing FXAA – Off
Antialiasing Gamma Correction – On
Antialiasing Mode – Override any App Setting
Antialiasing Setting – 4X
Antialiasing Transparency – Off
CUDA GPUs – ALL
Extension Limit – OFF
Max Pre-rendered frames – Use 3D App Setting
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration – Single display performance mode
Texture filtering Anisotropic sample opti… - Off
Texture filtering Negative LOD bias – Clamp
Texture Filtering Quality – Quality
Texture Filtering Trilinear Optimization – OFF
Threaded Optimization – Auto
Triple Buffering – Off
Vertical Sync – Use 3D App Setting

Any help would be great. Thank you,

msfossey

I wonder if the Antialias setting could be an issue.

In CFS2s graphic settings, do you have it on or off. Which ever you have it at change it. Here is what I have.

Antialiasing FXAA – Off

Things in RED might be worth checking out. Its only a guess.

A couple more questions...
Is your drivers up to date?
has this always been this way?
Did you do an update then notice the change?

Thats all I can think of. You could try posting this on one of the other boards and see if anyone has had this happen to them.

Let me know if anything helps.

Hi, msfossey,

I'd go for the same attempt. Try switching off anti-aliasing completely, I had to do it in my CFS2 for different reasons but it did make a difference.

Cheers!

What format are your textures in?

BH, I don't think its texture format - the first pic is of 8FG P39D repaint I did, so that means its a 565 bmp skin. It's got to be a graphics card/ setting issue.

Yea I think your right.

msfossey,
the setting on your graphics card that are in red. try adjusting those. Turn the anti alias to on. On your card not the game.

Its almost like the graphic for the shadows are being read wrong. I don't know. Its just a guess.
