Looking through some of my old belongings I found this.
The USS Yorktown CVS-10 visited Brest, France in the fall of 1969. A few of us from the air group were invited over for lunch and to tour the Clemenceau while we were in port.
After the tour we were given this commemorative coin.
Forty-five years has dimmed the memory a bit and there are only two things I can really remember about the visit.
1. Some where on a lower deck, in the center of the ship, was a large pendulum mounted on the bulkhead that indicated the ship's port/starboard list.
2. The thing I can remember about lunch was that fresh boiled crab was part of the meal and red wine served in large glasses. When the glass was half empty
it would get refilled. Many times! I don't know how I got back to the Yorktown. However, I do remember spending much time later, in the head, "throwing-up drunk".
Took me a very long time to even think about looking at wine after that. :uncomfortableness:

Nice story and the cool thing about FSX is that you can revisit the ship.
