I have just purchased FB v1.0, do I have to install all the patches? Or does patch v1.22 contail all the previousv updates.

If all you have is FB 1.0 then all you need to patch is 1.22 however I dont think there are any Spits and only Hurri MkIIs as far as British AC, no Pacific AC... and several of the maps are not there... plus you will not be able to fly online with anyone since 99% of us are fully merged. I highly recommend that you really try to find the Aces Expansion GOLD Pack and also Pacific Fighters. Especially if FB1.0 runs decently on your rig. Hit the Sturmovik Essentials link in my sig and look at the top of it where you will see a Why buy FB/AEP/PF and run as merged.. link. Welcome to the sim. It is a great sim and a lot of fun.

A question, in line with the above. ...A month ago, I hit the bargin bin, and picked up the original IL2 for a song, along with FB and the AEP. For the last month, I've been playing and building missions for the original. The other night I loaded FB, and noticed, like IL2, I only got version 1.0. With dial up, it was extreamly difficult to upgrade V1.2 for IL2, but I did it. I was wondering if the AEP will upgrade FB to 1.22 ? I really can't see doing a 110 MB download on dial up. I'm not done with the original IL2, but wanted to see what FB was all about. I've noticed that FB is more computer intensive than the original, but seem to be able to handle it by backing off some of the settings. If and when I get PF, I may have to replace my 64MB video card.

Thanks. I installed the AEP and it brought me up to V2.0 which includes the Spit V, but not the Spit IX. It looks like that aircraft is included in V2.01 which is a 110MB download. The last one, V2.04 is only 19MB, so it looks like I'll have to try to get one of my friends, with high speed, to burn it for me.
It would be great if the IL2 series was more user mod-able, but it isn't, so I'll just have to live with that. The mission builder reminds me of the great system that was in CFS2, except it's a little better.
