Is there any way to stop the guns from firing when the lights are on? I'm doing some night flights with it and the guns start as soon as I turn on the cockpit lights.

I donīt remember to see this situation here falcon409. But, i didnīt fly with it recently.
Iīll start a flight with it tonight to see whatīs going on.

By the time, just check your key assigments in FS. Maybe, itīs triggering the cannon with a key you use for something else.

Thanks. There are no light switches that I can see, so lights are activated with the "L" key, which apparently is how the Cannon effects are also initiated, lol.

I don't have the SU P-38 (mine is the FSD one) but open up the aircraft.cfg file and look in the [Lights] section to see if there are any lines that refer to the cannons. If so add two forward slashes '//' to the start of the line to disable it and then save and test.

If there's nothing in the [Lights] section try looking in the [Effects] section for a cannon reference and add the slashes to that line.

The same thing happens with the freeware version of the Skunkworks F-104..... NC

Hello falcon409,
Did a quick test and i found this. Looking over the manual there is this info:

The lights and the guns can be switched on/off thru VC panel buttons. But if you want a quick way to turn on the lights, the "L" worked ok. It didnīt fire the guns in here.

And the button to fire the guns is the afterburn assigment key. In my case shift+f4.

Maybe you can look what is the combination key to the afterburner function mapped in your fs.
