If you are having login problems, try
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forum.php

log out
delete cookie
log back in

this seems to be the fix

The only thing I have seen out of sorts (perhaps) is that all attempts to access page 2 of a thread in the Cantina simply returns one to page one -- the Griffin thread.

ken I am not getting this, I can pull up all the pages in the cantinna
give it a few days maybe it is only a cookie problem and some ISP cash their own cookies

Try pressing CNTRL F5 repeatedly to force a refresh of the page.

That should fix it.

I do not have a login problem, but I do have a problem sometimes reaching the FSX forums.
Typing Sim-outhouse.com where the FSX forum is located always comes up Sim-outhouse.net which is more for those interested in combat.

The only way I am able to be able to reach the FSX forums is to work around the dead ends and finally find it, it is then stored in my website history.
If I click Sim-outhouse.com in the website history, then it goes to the FSX forum.
Once in awhile, I lose the website history and then have to start over trying to get the FSX forums back.

Shouldn't typing in Sim-outhouse.com take you to Sim-outhouse.com instead of Sim-outhouse.net ?

Yes it should. My advise is to delete all your cookies, and browsing history and try again.

They are two different servers with different IP addresses

If you type in www.sim-outhouse.com and go to sim-outhouse.net it must be something on your system or your ISP.

Try this as a test to see if it is your browser or something else.

Open a command window

Type

ping www.sim-outhouse.com
You should get this

Reply from 72.233.76.234: bytes=32 time=58ms TTL=45

Do the same for our .net site

C:\>ping www.sim-outhouse.net

You should see two different IP addresses

If you do not something is wrong with your ISP or DNS.

In that event reboot your DSL modem or Cable Modem and try again.

Report back please so we can try and figure out where the issue is coming from.

Dave; I'm not sure what you mean by "Ping".
I just typed both Sim-outhouse.com and Sim-outhouse.net, they both go to the same page.
What shows up is: 42,000 results
Sim-Outhouse flight center
www.sim-outhouse.net (http://www.sim-outhouse.net) is the first result
It then lists many results, but none has a link to Sim-outhouse.com

It's hard to understand why clicking Sim-outhouse.com in the website history goes directly to Sim-outhouse.com
Typing Sim-outhouse.com using the search page or Google goes to Sim-outhouse.net.
I go to about 15 websites each day, this is the only site I have this problem with.

It sounds like you are doing a search and not entering the address into the address bar.

If you are doing a search to find the website yes

For some strange reason if you google search sim-outhouse or sim outhouse

It very well may return only www.sim-outhouse.net

This is an issue Google that has been going on for some time.

Its been quite a bother for many members or users.

What browser do you use?

Rudyjo

Dave: I use Microsoft MSN, it's the only thing I have used since getting a computer some 15 years ago.
If some other members would Google Sim-outhouse.com and they end up with Sim-outhouse.net, then the problem is with Google.
Thanks for your help, hopefully some other members can give their results.

MSN is a home page not a browser

I am going to guess you are using Internet Explorer as your browser.

If you enter the web address here you will be searching for the website using bing. Bing has the same issue as Google when searching for the Outhouse.

Doing that may yield these results

http://www.sim-outhouse.net/images/filenames/Picture2.jpg

To get to the Outhouse without searching the internet enter the address in the address bar instead. That will take you directly to the page you are trying to go to.

Dave: You are correct, I am using Internet Explorer.
I followed your advice and typed Sim-outhouse.com in the upper left hand box, it did go to Sim-outhouse.com.
So my problem is Bing.

Well I learned something new today, thanks for your help.

So did I but I will not understand why it changed.

After months of Google returning the strange results when you search for sim outhouse or sim-outhouse

They finally have it corrected.

At least for me.

If only me I am not sure why it changed.

I thought sim-outhouse.com was blacklisted by Ickie to not show up on any web seaches because it was causing attacks...

Dangerousdave26

No we blocked MSN in the firewall because they were going nuts and acting like a Denial of Service Attack and killing the server.

We tried telling them not to scan the server in the robots.txt file but that failed to get the results we wanted. They just ignored the file.

So we changed it back and blocked them in the firewall.

Thought this applied to all since sim outhouse.com never came up on Google or Yahoo as well.

Dangerousdave26

We have always shown up in Google until this Summer.

At least for me we did.

I don't know what changed it but I knew it when it happened. For months I have been helping members find there way back here that ended up at .net through some type of web search.

It happened very suddenly and for a short while I had no idea why they were ending up at .net.
