Wow, where did this come from?

'Rumors' have been circulating for three weeks or so -->> http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?82619-Found-this-at-the-News-Stand-the-other-day

and the parts have been lying around on the hangar floor for quite some time slowly getting assembled :applause:

lol, Boy, I saw this thread. . .read that very first post and it went right over my head, lol. I never went back to follow up on any of the subsequent posts. Never could figure out why the thread was so popular. . .heck it was just a picture of an imaginary magazine cover, lol.

which model is this ?

It's the Navion B with modern upgrades much as you could buy it today from Sierra Hotel Aero Inc. ( http://www.navion.com/ ) with a 300 HP engine, 3-blade prop and modern avionics.

2 or 3D cockpit instruments ?

The VC instruments are all 3D but there are also pop-up 2D gauges to allow for full IFR flying if you prefer to navigate 'old school' rather than with a GPS.

There has to be SOME pleasure to be derived from developing an aircraft... if teasing a few simmers wasn't entertaining people would just release things and go 'surprise!' Which we were actually tempted to do... just have you spot it in the download section one day... out of nowhere.

LOL :jump: thanks Roger..:salute:
I won't forget that one... It will be done once its out!

Hell I've even started on 'Project 2' already... :D Watch this space folks!

This is so lovely! It's so much better than the Navion that Richard Schwertfeger and I did several years ago... :icon_lol:

The fabled father Bill?

High praise from you sir :) I hated the navion at first... even when I'd joined Larry on this project... flying yours was what tipped my head over the side and made me love the plane... now I'm a bit navionutty.

I've "glassed" your Navion's cockpit up; something one can't do with 3D gauges. So there's still a reason to fly yours. ;)

Thanks for the kindness, and congratulations on releasing this wonderful contribution!

@Bjoern: I'm happy to hear that you are still enjoying it. Before the great "AVSIM Hack" of several years ago, Richie and my version of the Navion Rangemaster had >36k downloads. Unfortunately, that d/l count was lost in the library's wipeout. The current v2.0 at AVSIM shows only 8,197 downloads.

You and Richie were a great team. What happened to him?

Let's just hope that he only called it quits on MSFS...
