Hey,

anyone here who still shoots on chemical film?
I went back to the roots and bought a middle format camera (Mamiya RZ67 Pro II) with an assortment of lenses and took it with me on our summer vacation to Corfu / Greece.
Shot around 130 photos and must say, this is extremely addictive.
I had a bit of a problem at the airport though. Security pulled me out of the line twice prior to boarding because the camera apparently looks like a small, hand held mortar. Hehe.

I built a contraption that lets me digitze the negatives with the wife's Sony Alpha 77 DSLR and a good macro lens. By photographing sections of the negative and stitching them together in photoshop (does that automatically with photomerge) one can reach astonishing resolutions (around 70 MP) which seem to be above the useful physical resolution of chemical film.

But what am I talking, here's a few photos (b/w shot on Kodak 100 TMX and Ilford HP5, color on Kodak Porta 160):

(sorry for the size, but they are referenced externally)

I see. I also had two Nikon some years ago. The Nikon F (first generation) is one of the classics which I'm still after.
Today I received a Mamiya ZM with lens. When I opened the box I found that it looks like it has never been used. Bought it at the bay for around 20$. Oh well!

The scan results with your Epson look great! Expecially nice shots of the Connie and the Corvette.

Cheers,
Mark

Tks!
However my personal recommendations for someone looking to purchase are the V700 or V750.
