Well, it isn't this one, so where is it, please?

I think it IS this one, but somewhat better dressed.

I have no clue what you are talking here. Is this a repaint for some model, a whole new model on the works or what :isadizzy:

Mine is the Just Flight one.

I don't think it's a new model - it looks like the Just Flight Spitfire VC with some nicely-done new paint

David,

I'm pretty sure it IS the JF one! But that paint is just awesome! Let's just hope they redid the VC as well!

Guess it is time to take the JF Spit V out of the hangar!! :jump: I've always found the clipped wings version the most beautiful Spitfire there is. Probably because my country used to operate it!

Can we get an L?
Can we get an I?
Can we get an N?
Can we get a K?

What's that spell?? LINK!!!!

Take care,

Dumonceau

Thanks for the positve comments all.

Yes, it is the JF MKV, but with a brand new correct & authentic paintjob! (Well, as authentic as the model & mapping will allow!)

Not quite finished yet, but I will upload it here when ready.

And to point out, not my work. Credit for that has to go to my Dad who did a few repaints for the FS2004 AH/JF Spitfires, which can be found in the SoH Library.

Cheers

Paul

I'll look forward to it, and any others you like to convert. One query: what is the rear side of the radio like when slid out? On mine, that face only is a blank texture.

Thanks Paul and Dad! Looking forward to putting it on my Spit:ernae:

As of March 1944 the Belgian RAF Sqn's 349 and 350 also flew the Mk.VB. Oh to have a repaint of that model in those colours!!! :jump:

take care,

Dumonceau

Not wanting to stress you or your dad, but any update on this?

Hopefully soon Dumonceau !

A few niggles to sort out, mainly due to some rather poor mapping (this has caused a lot of extra work and headaches), and some problems with the MDL.

But I will let you know when it's ready.

Cheers

Paul

Yes - a Belgian one would be nice! Did you have a look at the radio yet?

I'm certainly looking forward to it, Paul!

I think 349 or 350 Sqn scheme would be nice too! (I'm having a look through my books and stuff, but if anyone has any photos or profiles for MKV's from these squadrons, let me have them).

As for the radio, do you mean the right side of it?

I haven't looked at the textures to see where it's mapped, but this is how it looks on the MKVc : -

Good to hear that John.

Should make a good stablemate for the rest of your DX based Warbirds!

Cheers

Brad,

I'm elated that you like the idea. I have a profile picture for ya of a spit of 349 Sqn, but a MkIX...

If you do make this paint (or if dad does it), I will be forever in your debt!!

Take care,

Dumonceau!

I'd never say never about RAF markings, but without a photo I'd be doubtful about those underwing roundels.

I'm inclined to agree!

Here's the Spitfire Va from the same JF pack. See the difference in the right, rear facing side of the radio? Blank on the Vc AE*A above, but textured here.

Dumonceau,

Thanks for the profile, even though it's a MKIX. Maybe a basis for the RA Spit IX in the future? (I've found some pics of 349 MKIX's as well).

And yes, those underwing roundels aren't correct!

I've found some pics on the web of two 349 sqn LF.VB's, one coded GE-L & another coded GE-U. The latter has had a prang, and I need to find the serials of both aircraft, as they appear not to have been applied.

I also found a picture of a belly landed 350 Sqn Vb coded MN-E, which has a name on the fuel tank cover, but the picture is of too lower resolution to make it out, so will have to do some more research.

The EP120 skin might be delayed along with any other repaints, as sadly my Grandad passed away yesterday.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul!

First of all, let me offer you my most sincere condolences on your loss mate. When I lost my grandad (first RSM of the Belgian Parachute Rgt.) I was heartbroken. Having grown up in a single parent family that man was my example, my mentor and the essence of authority. In a good sense. I really feel for you.

On a more positive note: I'll dive into my "library" to see if I can find the serials of GE-L and GE--U.

But first of all, take good care of yourself and your loved ones!
