Good-day,
In a previous thread (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?80813-A-small-gripe), I'm afraid some folks may have misunderstood my wording, and intentions. So, this morning I took a few flights, with some of my favorite re-paints, done by members here at SOH, and elsewhere. I don't have a lot of skins installed, but I decided to capture and showcase a few that I do. Hopefully this can be an encouragement to any of these guys, and perhaps any other painters as well.

I would like this to be a showcase thread, where we can post thank-you screenshots, of someone else's work that we appreciate!

I'm not a big GA, or Tube guy, so someone else is going to have to fill in the blanks there!

So fellas, thanks a bunch for allowing the following!

No misunderstanding, you put yourself and your work up on a pedestal and told people if they cannot do better don't bother.

Good idea Joseph, got to think about that one. I have so many favorites it is hard to choose. See what I can do. Thanks for starting the thread. This could be a good thread to find a paint you hadn't seen before. Keep'em coming.

Where in his explanation does it say sorry for throwin a hissy fit because he didn't get the artist he wanted to paint the skin he wanted , An apology is called for not false explanations.

Some nice repaints there! What scenery is that in the P-51D-5-NA 52nd FG by R.G. Atkinson image?

Beautiful Trojan there! Richard posted some nice screens of that one at ORBX forums as well.

The scenery in question is the OWBX Pacific Northwest, on the West coast of Washington state.

This is a great idea! Good way to showcase paints. I wish I knew anything about repainting... It seems kinda fun!

Keep 'em coming, guys! You sure put a lot of effort into your work.

This is a great thread. Let's see if we can keep it open, eh? Perhaps take your personal beef to PM?

Back on topic: So many great paints from so many great painters . . . Keep the pics coming.

No he made his offensive post in the open so he should apologise in public for it.

Perhaps start a different "I demand an apology" thread? This is too good an idea for a thread to make the mods close it. Please.

Another thread that's going to be locked. Come on, let other people enjoy this and take your beef to pm like it was suggested.

To be blunt and honest, I'm unsure of which I need to apologize, unsure of where the tantrum you speak of was, and completely scratching my head about the comment "...a hissy fit because he didn't get the artist he wanted to paint the skin he wanted..." Care to expound on this? Because I really don't know what you are talking about?

Hopefully we can move on, with what is once again intended to be a supportive, and encouraging thread.

Best,
Joseph

So get someone too reopen one who isn't using it as a flimsy excuse too be nice too repainters . After his little tantrum yesterday.

So you claim that the pm I got from admin yesterday stating you didn't get a repaint you wanted done by the artist you wanted so had kicked off was a lie ? , well well how the plot thickens. I will temp put the hissy fit aside and have a chat with admin on it.
But even if that is true your post yesterday was offensive too many people and I still reckon you owe them an apology.

Looks llike we have another controversy. This thread from looking at the title is to showcase special repaints that we call our favorites. If we can't move on with what this thread is intended to do it will be closed very shortly. Enough said.

Simples mate he makes an apology for his little stunt yesterday and i'll bugger off. Or i'll be a right royal pain in the ass till he does or you ban me and loose all my substandard files in the process.

WOW!!!

I'll start by saying that I do think this IS a good 'thread' and I applaud LOUDLY the individuals that take the time and put forth that kind of effort (not only in paints but aircraft) so the rest of us can enjoy their results. I hope someday I PERSONALLY feel I can produce that kind of workmanship - but that will be a decision I WILL MAKE!!

I will end by saying that the decision I made several years ago (when another great painter by the name of Wild Bill Kelso got me interested in painting / re-painting) of NOT presenting my work to the 'public' was the CORRECT decision!! Altho it has taken away the "public's" option of looking at it and / or downloading it for their personal enjoyment, it has certainly eliminated this kind of CRAP!!! I will continue to do my work for my own personal pleasure!!!

Joseph has/had good intentions none-the-less I believe. Just a suggestion, I say let it rest and those having felt offended take things up by other means. Not here. SOH (or any forum) does not need this type of relation in the community.

So having an egotestical breakdown , and telling people not to bother picking up a paint brush and trying unless they meet his own standards is a good thing for the community if unchallenged ? Weird point of view in my opinion.

Gentlemen,

My personal decision is to let yesterday be done and forgotten.

Favorite repaints...there's not enough room on this thread for me to list the painters for whom I have an immense resect. I don't want to see any of you leave.
I second the motion to take the negotiations off the forum, render apologies where they are appropriate and move on to honoring each others contributions to the community.

IMHO

Wouldn't it be a blessing if everyone would do the same?

Sorry ******** I respect your points with the exception that what he did yesterday demands a public apology, and until an apology is issued this thread is just a flimsy attempt to try too seem like a someone who gives a flip about the repainting community.

Point taken. Anyone feels they need a mediator...PM me. I'll volunteer for that in the interest of maintaining the peace here.

There comes a time when we just have to walk away from the stupid things people sometimes say.

Asking them to correct themselves over and over again is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the hell out of the pig.

Claiming to take your toys and go home puts you in the light of being no better than the person you are dissatisfied with.

Is that how you want to be viewed?

I personally do not want you to be banned but if you so choose then that must be what happens.

If that happens then you might as well view it as the other side won even though Flight Simulator is no competition.

My advise is walk a way from the idiots in life, allow others to make mistakes, and spend your time doing what makes you happy in this hobby ignoring those you find offensive.
