No, not those Beatles, but these guys that insist on dive bombing me when I go out in the backyard:

They are called figeater beetles and seem to be common in parts of Texas. I think of them as oversized June bugs with garish paint jobs.

Beetles:

Phyllophaga (genus) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllophaga_%28genus%29), a genus of beetles in the subfamily Melolonthinae of the family Scarabaeidae, also known as June bugs or June beetles
The Green June beetle (Cotinis nitida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotinis_nitida)), of the southeastern United States
The Ten-lined June beetle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten-lined_June_beetle) (Polyphylla decemlineata), of the western United States and Canada
The Figeater beetle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figeater_beetle) (Cotinis mutabilis), of the western and southwestern United States
The European chafer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_chafer) (Rhizotrogus majalis/Amphimallon majalis), a beetle native to continental Europe, but now also in North America

"Junebug", a nickname for Dale Earnhardt Jr. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_Earnhardt_Jr.)

So, besides Dale Jr, apparently figeaters ARE June bugs. I always though junebugs were black and red, sort of firefly-y, but apparently those are box elder beetles.
