the Tevis Cup follows the western states trail over the sierra nevada mountain range from squaw valley to auburn california.started with this horse race,then a nutball named gordy ainsliegi decided he needed to prove a point to himself or some silly thing,,lol,,and he ran it on foot,so now we have two of the worlds most "preeminent endurance races in the world",auburns been know in some circles as the "endurance capitol of the world" ,ive even been sucked into the fun,i used to own a 1955 chevy puckup,it was a 3100 model,had a longbed,which had a full 6'x8' inside measurement inside.at a place called robinson flat,the support crews are not allowed to park on the meadow,and at the height of the action,the trucks and horse trailers would line the access road for up to 8 miles from robinson flat,so my truck and several other old classics,were used to just drive up and down the road hauling tack and feed for the horses and riders all day...was alot of fun.

this is pretty cool too,the bridge shown in the opening segment,is the "Mountain Quarries Railroad bridge" or also known as "No Hands Bridge"(it was named that by Ina Robinson when she rode across while on a tevis cup event and yelled "look no hands" while holding her hands/arms raised over her head...the joke?..shes afraid of heights and in those days there were no barriers,and very little gravel on the railroad roadbed left as it would get washed away in floods,yes the canyon has flooded so deep there that all three bridges at the confluance have been under water for weeks..this bridge,built in 1912,was then the longest continuous concrete arch bridge in the world.
