I might bite and buy. That is depending on seeing the RCAF 440Sq Paint #802 with the bat on the tail.

From the Aerosoft forums:

Release planning
The 1.00 version now released (or soon to be released) is NOT the complete product. It contains not all models we plan to include. We decided to release this version because all systems, manuals, etc etc are ready and it seemed not right to keep what is ready on our internak servers. So it is released and the additional models will be delivered before September (of course without additional costs!). The boxed version will be delivered when all models are ready.

Price and discounts

If you buy the initial product (version 1.00, only available in download) you will pay €24.25 (€29.95 including EU VAT when applicable)
The complete download product (version 1.10) will cost €28.31 (€34.95 including EU VAT when applicable).
The complete boxed product (version 1.10) will cost €28.33 (€34.99 including EU VATwhen applicable)
If you own the previous Twin Otter (Twin Otter X) you and entitled to a 20% discount. You will need to enter you original serial code when you buy the product, so make sure you keep it on hand.

I'm also really looking forward to this - they're claiming they've improved the engine management a lot; really hope that's the case!

It was a ground up rebuild of the gas turbine model based on lessons learned when making the Bronco. We were able to find charts for both the 100 & 300 series PT6A-20 and -27 (respectively) that covered the entire flight evelope. From those we calculate the maximum instantaneous and maximum continuous engine torque's which vary based on Ambient Air Temp, Pressure Altitude, Anti-Ice Condition (there are four), Prop RPM, and Indicated Airspeed. So there are two ways you can stress the engine with immediate and accumulated consequences.

Engine management aside, there should also be a notable improvement in the interface compared to the first DHC-6 and OV-10 in terms of the ground handling and general engine response.
