The complete P-40N package (11 models, 20 paint schemes) has been out with the beta testers (thank you!) for a few days now, and the last final few details are being sorted out. Bernt has been tweaking the flight dynamics even further.

John Terrell of Warbirdsim fame has been kind enough to send me some of his usual top-notch screenshots, and so I thought I'd share them here. There are no VC shots as I'm finishing up some of the textures for a variety of cockpits, and the testers don't have these (for an overall view of the VC during development, there are screenshots here (http://www.flight-replicas.com/P-40NFSX.htm)).

This coming week the Manual will be finished up, and the website and store prepared for the coming release. After that.... :)

Mike

Without further wait, here are John's screenshots, of some of the models:

Great news Mike.

Been waiting for this one for a while!

Looks fantastic.

I look forward to it's release.

(Which reminds me, still yet to install your Boomerang which I bought a while back!)

Cheers

Hi,

Now this is what I like to hear. Two independent developers helping each other, exactly how it should be. I like to think that the FS business is like people imagine early aerial warfare to be, a gentlemanly pursuit with manners and dignity (which in fact it wasn't, try reading 'Goshawk Squadron' by Derek Robinson for a viewpoint), we share a common interest we should surely share a common goal?

My respect to both involved parties for holding hands nicely (I won't tell anyone, honest)

:salute:

I'm thinking why I should get this since I own the A2A model , different model but close enough .
The reason is easy . I am such a fan of the Me109 and Boomerang that I am not going to miss out on this . Looking forward to this . Cheers

Mike, I just shorted out another keyboard drooling all over this beauty. Kudos to John for his input. Your P-40 will be an awesome addition to my hangar. Thanks for the update. I'm camped out in line to purchase your beautiful recreation. :mix-smi:

This aircraft already has a space cleared in my Warbird hangar. Any more and I am going to have to apply to my local council to build a new hangar.

"Black Magic was a 78 Squadron RAAF P-40N that was flown by F/Sgt Len Waters (1924 - 1993) who was Australia's only Aboriginal fighter pilot and in fact our only aboriginal pilot.

He flew 95 missions between 1944 and 1945 and left the RAAF in 1946 with Warrant Officer rank. More information can be found on the above link.

It's funny that you post this now, as I literally just finished a flight in your 109K and was thinking about the P-40. I love that 5th shot, with the "tigershark" paint scheme coming at you. Thanks for the previews, they look great and I can't wait to add her to the hanger.

i've just noticed .... whats the story behind the ? on GA-? .. first i've ever seen that!

There's an explanation, and more112 Squadron Kittyhawk pics, here: http://raf-112-squadron.org/112_photos_page_6.html
Some of the notes are a little confusing, though, also referring to GA-? where the individual letter is unknown.

Why is it that some models, such as this one, get bare metal absolutely spot-on, while others look like they've been chrome plated ? I'm not a painter, so I wouldn't know, but isn't there a standard 'accepted' way of doing bare metal ?
