A preview for who ever wants to try it out prior to general uploading. A late '80's Soviet Sea Control Ship study, a SWATH Light Fleet Carrier. The only information I had to work with was the small photo of a model.

My best guess- length:662 ft, Beam:210 ft oa, flight deck 637 ft x 193 ft,
displacement approx 40,000 tons.

I think I've got the bugs out. Comments? Ideas? Is it worth having a STOBAR version with wires?
Later!

Looks cool.

If the original ship was more oriented around STOVL ops, I'd say leave the wires out - can't think of how you'd operate anything the size of either a '29K or a '33 off it ... looks small. Great for Forgers and helos, though ...!

Great job!

How's the Bonnie?

Revision record:

proper texture mapping-at least on flat stuff. Much better, anyway.
hirez deck textures, general txture O/H
AK130 mount and gunhouse swapped for round instead of hex shaped gunhouse(lots of
vertices left for greeblies) and correct 100mm/70cal DP mount from P1155 DDG project.
Deckpark of HELIX's and FORGER's.
P-1155B Fregat/UDALOY II DDG escort
Name change. I found the same photo except captioned 'Delfin', so I guessed wrong.
Merkur was a monohull study.

Lazarus,
Very nice ship models, both the carrier and the Udaloy. Just one trivial detail comment, the naval jack flag looks nice up on the bow but it's not normally flown while underway.

A great work from you again, lazarus. Thank you very much

If you have the next project like this. Will you consider HTMS Chakri Naruebet?

Very cool, love the Udaloy!
I have a Russian corvette, the Steregushchiy, and an Admiral Gorshkov-class frigate, both as landable scenery objects in my new scenery I am working on, shouldn't be hard to make them AI.

Excellent! Soviet frigates are under represented. A Soviet scenery, eh? How would you feel about collaborating on a project or two? I've been talking with Hetzie about a 1959 med Mercator mission. One idea is a night mine laying sortie into Sevastapol, the other, and front runner is a what if scenario revolving around the original design for the NOVEMBER class

a single 40 ft long, 1550mm 100 MT Tsar bomba armed, direct cycle nuclear steam jet propelled land attack torpedo. The hunt for 'BLACK NOVEMBER'.

On to more Harrier carriers. the Thai Navy doesn't do much for me, I'm afraid. All that lemon grass and coconut milk! I do want to take a stab at some of Zumwalt's Sea Control ship studies, the CATOBAR variants, or the medium weight Carriers. And the Spruance derived STOVL carrier designs. And Long Beach. And Leahy, and the CGN's. And Strike cruiser. HMS Vanguard. Sverdlov, Sovremeny, Kydna. AN-2, Triton, Greyback and Halibut...
You see where this is going. But who knows.
And naval jacks filed off next version.
Have fun

Hello all, i like the idea of a soviet scenery very much. Does there happened something in building one? This were great for making a mission for a U2 Dragonlady...:applause:
