Many of us have run the Grand Canyon at low level in Flight Simulator, but back in the 1950s, before the advent of modern flight rules and environmental regulations, U.S. Air Force pilots could do it for real. Here's a video shot from the back seat of a T-33 as an RAF exchange pilot runs the canyon at high speed and ultra-low level:
