I just finished Ike's book "Crusade in Europe", what a great amount of planning went into the invasion. My dad SSGT Donald H Murphy of the first infantry division went ashore at Normandy on "Omaha" beach on that day, fought in the battle of the Bulge and was wounded at the bridge at Remagen.

I take my hat off to all those who were there. Without them I would not be writing this.

Of course Your Very Proud of your Dad, and rightly so! So too Most All in the free world are ..He was a Kid,like all then, doing his job..What the World owes these boys can never be evaluated.I know your story probably is comparable to hundreds of thousands of family's also...So On these Days ,we Remember those Kids ,who will be forever young,on that day,..so long ago...We Remember them? they live,we forget? They are gone...Thanx..Vin
