View Full Version : Possible homemade yoke idea...

Was browsing on eBay for cheap used yokes and came across this little thing.... Now, if I have the general concept right of how this thing works right... Could you basically make something like this yourself with maybe a dowl, some pvc, etc. etc..... ? Looks like all it does is use a bar that slides in and out and turns, and there is a mouse with a roller ball attatched above it to mock the inputs..... thoughts anyone? or anyone else ever seen this?

Interesting idea. I don't have the technical know-how to do it, but cool idea.

And if you want shaped parts, glue some wood planks together (dried wood, good glue, heavily clamped) and put it in a vice and start shaping it with a grinder and discs of 36 grit! Then finish.

flying a jenny or a stearman with a yoke is another thing altogether. here is one alternative from waaayyyy back:
