A little while ago, I was on the comp browsing the forums, while Jay was out & hopping about being Jay, stealing bling-bling (to him anyway) & hiding it, etc. I got to hearing something coming from in the living room that sounded like a puppy whining. Jay has been able to mimic that sound as he'd picked it up a long time ago from Mrs Willy's Minature Pinscher.

Looking around and not seeing Jay, I dashed off into the living room. There he was frozen in front of closed glass storm door, a couple of feet from it whining for all he was worth. I walked over to him and and got him to step up on onto my hand and from there he hopped onto my shoulder. Once there the whining stopped and he was chattering like mad in my ear.

I looked out the door and there was about 7 or 8 of the yard cats intensely staring in at Jay. Good thing that door was shut and between Jay and those cats.

Wonder how long it'll be before Jay get's brave enough to go back into the living room?

Probably fairly traumatic, at an instinctual level, for a domesticated bird. Sort of like you or me comming around the corner and confronting six or seven hungry, drooling Velociraptors!
