View Full Version : Extrusion method?

The highlighted area is my top window trim. I am wanting to extrude it outward from it's surface area to create thickness. I've tried several approaches short of extruding each poly individually.

Extruding each poly individually will accomplish what I want to do. Also creating a copy, scaling slightly, then flip normals, create new faces, weld, yada yada will work.
Is there a faster method?

In this situation extruding by "local normal" is the way to go. Before attempting the operation be sure that any doubled vertices have been welded or you will get wonky results.
Looking good! :applause:

Thanks for that Robert.

I was in the midst of working that area when I posted when I decided to clone and flip normals to make what I needed. You know me,, no patience. :icon_lol:
Next time I'm in the same situation I will try as you suggest.
