A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - British

Description: Gladiator Skins for thicko's Mk. II Gladiator model.

While obsolete in the European theatre, the Gloster Gladiator played a major role for the Royal Air Force in North Africa and in Greece. The Gladiator proved, especially when flown agressively, an equal of the Italian biplane fighters, and could also handle some Italian monoplanes, such as the Fiat G-50 Freecia. In Albania, RAF 33, 80, and 112 Squadrons were primarily resonsible for offensive fighter sweeps and bomber escort until February 20th, 1941. On this day, Hawker Hurricanes equipped the pilots of RAF 80 Squadron, allowing for the Hurricanes to engage newer Italian monoplanes, such as the Macchi Mc-200 Saetta, and later German fighters, such as the Messerschmitt Bf-109 and Bf-110.

These skins represent some of the aircraft flown by these brave pilots, including Nigel Cullen, Richard Acworth, and "Pat" Pattle.

Good evening,

At my request, Smashing Time was generous enough to create nearly ten Gladiator skins for RAF 33, 80, and 112 Squadrons. Thanks to Smashing Time for these skins, they look fantastic!

Just got the pack. It's good to see "Smashing Time" back in the basement and painting for the Senior Sim again.

Yeah! Rick Spork is back! :salute:

"Smashing Time" pseudonim brings back fond memories. Rick's early-war historical repaints of CFS2 stockers were the first ones I downloaded a long time ago....I recall remaining sitting in front of my 15" old pc screen breathelss, stunned by the beauty of the stock F4F in Coral Sea/Midway livery, of Commander Fuchida's B5N2 at Pearl and all of the others.

All of us, coming from CFS1, realised from Rick's magnificent repaints the impressive amount of fine detailing and weathering that could be done in CFS2, it opened up a new simulated reality dimension and era.

Thank you, Rick!

You've hit the nail on the head KH.

We've sure had some "smashing good times" with Rick's masterful painting over the years. Those MS stockers with Rick's ministrations really helped bring CFS 2 alive on my computer.

Thanks for the kind words folks. I did enjoy those "good old days". I can't spend as much time with the brush anymore due to the old arm is kinda worn out amongst other things. I hope this will enhance Andrew's campaign. Did this as a favor for his because of his support here over the years. I do check around the Out-House often to see what going.

Enjoy,

Rick :kilroy:

Hey guys,

Rick was having a problem getting this aircraft to load and I couldn't help him. Rick, can you describe what was going on once again? I want to get some other minds on this...:kilroy:
