It's hard to believe how far FSX has come in graphics and performance. I was only running at 2.7GHz with $32 worth of DDR2 800, and I was able to run these scenes pegged at a 25fps lock. When I was flying around tonight I spotted some objects in the sky, not UFO's but eagles. I didn't know FSX had eagles. But there they were. This scenery has got some magic, and I'm amazed at the images that came from it. I didn't have to edit these, it's just REX and Plum Island. I was going to add these to the Plum Island screenshot thread, but I see it vanished. lol

Have you found dolphins, orcas, elefants and giraffes yet?

Gorgeous screenies! Plum Island is one of the best "small airfields" to have arrived yet in FSX.

Absolutely, the eagles are activated when you choose the "Natural" visualization of thermals in the weather options :) It's very cool to soar with them, but you need a very slow glider, like a delta or something.

Also you can occasionnaly spot some elephants and other animals while flying over the protected areas in Africa, and there are surely other places with other animals, but I don't know them.

It's suprising that you mention Eagles because today is the day that the Bald Eagles return to Cushman Park in Newburyport, where Plum Island Airport is located. It appeared in today's Daily News.
Last year there were 73 eagles spotted with 45 mature and 28 immature birds according to the Audubon Society.
However, best not to get one in the windshield. They'll leave a bad impression on your mind.

That's a good tip about the thermals, and very cool. I had no idea. I'm also surprised to hear they printed about the eagles in that area on the same day I posted this. Kinda neat.
