"That's what he gets..." in his post race interview? Update: That's what the announcers confirmed (meanwhile Denny is carted off in an ambulance)....

That was a bit cold. Maybe he didn't know Denny was hurt. Maybe...

Lagano is quickly losing respect it seems to me..Harvick,Newman,Stewart,Hamlin..and there are others i cant think of..oh..kyle busch...earlier DW said Lagano needed to be tougher and stand up for himself....maybe so...but he needs to stop calling people names on twitter and talking behind backs....thats gonna get him hurt on track...

Hey All,

Too funny! I like Joey even more and sorry but Tony's belly isn't muscle. Nothing wrong with what Joey did. Where the problem is is that Hamlin did not go up and block Kyle thus letting Logano win. Joey doesn't have to worry he will get his wins - you watch. Hope Hamlin is OK that was a hard hit.

It's okay for a driver to say "That's what he gets" after a driver is carted away in an ambulance? What wasn't mentioned though was that Logano also blocked Kurt Busch in similar fashion on an earlier restart that didn't amount to anything....

Panther_99FS
March 24th, 2013, 20:51
That being said,
I don't see the block by Logano being illegal - Heck, Stewart did the same at Talledega (against Michael Waltrip) & wrecked most of the field....

But Stewart is right about one thing - if Logano's crew hadn't stepped in, Stewart would've cleaned Joey's clock!

I've lost a lot of respect for Joey in the last two races. It seems that there were no tears shed by D. Hamlin nor K. Busch when Logano left JGR, I'm beginning to understand why. I think Logano has an attitude and like many drivers in the past, he has plenty of competitors who will be more than willing to adjust his attitude. Think Brad Keselowski, he earned the nickname "Bad Brad" for his attitude and behavior. He also got schooled on track. Last year, Brad kept the attitude in check and earned himself a championship. Joey has talent, but his attitude will prevent him from advancing.

i agree with the last post there...he came from a place where he won everything, all the time, they called him "sliced bread" (stupid nickname)...thing is Lagano has allways has a bighead about it..every interview ive ever seen him in,yes he is nice and polite,,but he is also cocky and and all about him..nothing wrong with that in a good strong competitor..except..when you start doing things on track so often you are in a fight week after week..with differant drivers..or even multiple drivers in one day..yer gonna get yer butt kicked..i believe that every year he has been in cup he has had a controversy with someone..remember his dad getting in the fight on pitroad and being ejected from the tracks?..

atleast brad kept it to just carl for a long time...and if youve noticed..they (brad and carl) can stand together and smile and laugh..before and after a race...they couldnt before..lagano needs that personal wake up that Brad got...its NOT about him...its about the team and the people around him....it won brad a championship the very year he learned it...

and thats what i like about Kyle Larson.....so far he knows hes good..but hes also humble

DENNY HAMLIN HAS A FRACTURED BACK:

Perhaps Logano will now re-think his "That's what he gets"...comment.....

Compression fracture of the L1 vertebrae, he will be examined by a spine specialist later this week. Don't know if he will need surgery or if he will be in the driver's seat any time soon.

Lagano knew Dennis hit the wall, but did he know the man was hurt when he made that comment?

A fair question towards Joey no doubt...
I suppose the depending factor is whether or not Joey lets his original comment stand or provides additional words this week....

So far Denny has not heard one word from Logano.

I haven't cared for Logano since he deliberately put our home boy Peyton Sellers into the wall in a Nationwide race. Hey, there's an idea, have Gibbs put Peyton in a junker and tell him to have at him at Martinsville.

Logano told USA TODAY Sports by phone Monday that he had "no idea" Hamlin was hurt or even that he hit the wall hard when he told Fox: "He probably shouldn't have done what he did last week (at Bristol), so that's what he gets."

I'm sure by now that Logano knows the extent of the damage, yet he has still said nothing. Denny's season is most likely finished, L1 fractures generally take one to two months to heal with a back brace, sometimes surgery is also required.

Been there, done that, got the 'internal fittings' and it was about 12 months before I was passed fit for duty, his season is done provided he listens to his Doctors.

Logano seems like a reasonably nice kid. But he is young. I'll take him at his word that he didn't know Hamlin was hurt when he made those post-race comments. Looking for a silver lining in all this, I hope this make Logano feel really bad, as it should. This could be something he never forgets, and a "life lesson". We'll see. We all needed those when we were young. From time to time...

What I have heard from several interviews is that Logano is a nice kid... on camera. Off camera he is more of a spoiled rich kid to whom everything has come very easily, up until he started in the Sprint Cup Series. I don't know him, but this is what several people who claim to know him have said.

Are you sure they weren't listening to Tony's show on SeriusXM?

I think the bottom line here is Joey did exactly what the rest of them would have done on the last lap including Tony.

Hey All,

So I been away the last few days - dang thing called a job. Anyway here is how I see it.

I think the "front-runners" in NASCAR know who they are and know who each other is. I think when a "newcomer" starts running up front he/she needs to carve out his/her space and earn the respect of the other "front-runners". Take Brad K he "feuded" with people until they learned - this guy is for real and I need to respect him and I'll get respect back and Brad K is the current champion. Sure the "frontrunners" are still going to have squabbles but they know who they are and what each other can do. I think right now Joey is fighting for his "space and respect" - he will get it - he is too good not to. He will get beat up and he will beat back but in the end he'll be a "front-runner". There is no way Joey wanted Denny to fracture his back and there is no way he doesn't care - it is all part of the play/game/soap opera/ reality of racing in NASCAR. I hope Denny heals fast (an most may know I am not a fan) and they "fix" that wall - I don't think it was a safer barrier.

Now Montoya and his feud with track dryers... I'm betting on the track dryer!

It was not a safer barrier wall and I think NASCAR and the track owner are looking into safer barriers for the inside walls. Crashes on short tracks are not as bad simply due to the decreased speed of the cars. I think the longer tracks should have safer barriers on the inside walls as we see a good number of hard hits against those walls.
