I've been considering buying the Gmax Bible. While browsing the net, I found also the "Gmax Handbook"

What are the differences? Same, just a reprint?
Does it benefit me to get both?

Yes/No, what shall I do? :kilroy:

Some day I may take a crack at gmax... so I bought the gmax Bible, over 800 pages with bonus cd that has the book in pdf format. I have not used this book, so not sure if it's worth it or not.

2 inches thick and interesting to note is MAAM's B-25 and C-47 are pictured in the book.

I have the GMAX bible, 5 bucks on amazon with the PDF on CD included, never opened either once....

If what you want to do is 'learn' GMAX then get it, but I think you would learn more by just hanging around the FSdev forums and reading reading reading

When I was actively working with Gmax I used the Gmax Bible. It was quite useful as a reference. For getting started the tutorials provided in Gmax were my starting point and quite useful.

When I was using GMAX I bought the GMAX Bible and I found it ver useful indeed. I didn't so much "learn" from it, but it was an essential reference I used all the time. I now use 3DS Max instead and have similar books for that too.

Prowler you are a gentleman. That tut has been missed since disappearing from its previous home. Much obliged!

This particular tut, I referred to it as, was pointed out to me several instances over at FSDeveloper for one situation or another during my earliest learning stages. I never did read into it in depth to see what was inside. Your pointing it out to me (and my browsing through it again) covers several instances I've asked questions about numerous times while getting to the stage I'm at currently.

Creating that took a great amount of time.

For the time I'll put off the purchase.
Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Aha!

If you follow that link you'll find a link on the page to a zip file of the tut. Click on it and you get the full tut, pictures and all!

Robin Corn's GMAX tutorials are great too, and aimed primarily at designing scenery for FSX

Great tut. Although the page source is not save-able. Is there a .zip that can be downloaded that contains it all?

Cool stuff... interesting, he recommend the gmax Bible as the best GMAX resource available.

Recommended and only re-installed three days back , time to re-train my brain and do it again , RNZAF Wigram has had a major knock at the knees but i'm going to keep it open , my final flight off the airfield was in 2005 in a Harvard , i grew up around Wiggy and today is the Air force World Museum .. this is to be Gmax built into Christchurch X .

Christchurch International .. The entire airport has been rebuilt , using ORBX as the structure base matching the the photoreal scenery is now time to use and return to Gmax for the airport build ... course photoreal building and surrounds .

GMAX Bible .. Recommend

Anyone wants to follow the build or want the current scenery pop over to www.nzff.org (http://www.nzff.org) and the team of Wobblyvillians will keep you happy . <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setT imeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setT imeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setT imeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">Wobblyville - (ex-Christchurch) Wobblyvillians - the people , due to the deadly earthquake of two years back .. have a shake when flightsimming ... its just turbulence :jump:

I have just received my gMax bible. Ordered from Amazon and was told deliver date to Australia would be Monday the 6th of May. It arrived on Thursday 8 days after placing my order. Haven't had a real good chance to check it out yet.
