I guess most of you will have heard of the story behind this B-17?
If not go [url=http://jalopnik.com/5971023/why-a-german-pilot-escorted-an-american-bomber-to-safety-during-world-war-ii]here[/utl] for example.

still wip, but nearly done, (and yes, the original was a F, I know..)

Very nice, Jankees! It is great to see this one recreated. The story behind that aircraft has seemed to make the rounds quite a bit in recent months.

I gave a personal review on the book a few weeks ago at the NewsHawks forum. Plus a copy/paste review from my local library.

Last Friday while in Alexandria, LA., I exited my car and heard a droning sound and looked up to see a B-17 flying slowly over the VA clinic. What a treat that was. It's been years since I last saw one in flight. Don't know which one it was, but it was all OD green with no tail insignia. Couldn't make out the numbers.
