I just sent a very large upload with not one, but two sets of textures for "Lily Marlene". One set has the wing de-icers painted black, as seen in the reference, another set has the de-icers clean. I also made a new bump texture for the forward fuselage to give some 3-D effect for the armored plates on each side of the cockpit. I had to do some finagling with the Exterior 1 texture for the armor plates also and there is an Exterior 1 texture enclosed also.

Be on the look out also for the replacement rudder texture too (also uploaded). In my blondness I made the serial nos. 250807 instead of 250907 and failed to catch it. The replacement texture fixes that!

I will prepare the FS2004 textures and get them up later today.

Whew, bbut this has been an intensive repaint. Every time I thought i had everything hunky-dory, some little Alpha error or mistype will catch my eye in taking screen captures! And believe me, in FSX the Alpha had better be dead on or you "will" see your error quickly!

I have come up with a good way to get truly correct Alpha Channels that I may do a tutorial on if time allows in the near future.

For those that have this payware airplane, enjoy. This has been a labor of love for a fellow Caswell County, NC native Rick Frederick, who was my classmate of the Class of '65 and whose uncle, Ransom Frederick, piloted "LILY MARLENE" and lost his life in the ill-fated crash on 9/9/44.

No big deal here, your planes are pretty as they are. But in the third shot you show the RDF covered with aluminum. It should be in black phenolic. The loop antenna won't work if its covered with aluminum or even aluminum paint. There were some that were natural color or a light tan.

It will be here at SOH, the "only" place to host my work. :ernae:

Also, I am lazy and as in this case, i often make a boo-boo! So by keeping the upload places to one, I limited the amount of time I have uploading fixes! :costumes:

Fix will be on the way if at all possible HD. Thanks for pointing that out, I used AlphaSim's excellent .psd layered kit. Sometimes items like this are in the .mdl (model) file and if that's the case, we're stuck with aluminum. I'll have a look at the textures.

That is a beautiful paint Caz. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/GT182/Thumbup.gif I wish it could be used with the WOP B-24 too.

HD, I cannot find the texture for the RDF, but it is darker than aluminum, don't know exactly what color it may be. What it needs most is to white out the Alpha for it, so it is not reflective.

You can see in capture one that it is dark, in the capture you mention, it happens to show the reflectivity.

Anyhow, the texture is definitely not on the layered base textures. I looked at all the exterior textures in DXTBitmap and danged if I can find the bugger.

Caz

Here's a bad close-up. As you can see, it is not aluminum, but some darker color.
