Apparently this is a hoax (www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp). However, you can go to the "Do Not Call" website (don't have the link on hand) and register as many phone numbers as you need, including cell phones.

It's not a hoax, but it is exagerated. The number does connect to the do not call registry and it's simple to do. Better safe than sorry where the government is concerned.

Beware of the new telemarketing scam also.

They call your phone and hang up.

Most people (not me) will call back the number that called them.

You are connected to an automated telemarketer. I got just such a call as this on the 1st of the year.

I did not call them back I googled the number and found others who had reported it.

I just don't call back numbers I don't recognize or that show up blank on my caller id.
