Beta version 1 seemed close to perfect to me. I'll pick up version 2 as soon as Avsim is back on line.

Here's version 1 over Mongolia:

Im really loving this plane, it handles like my Dads old Morris, you really need to think ahead with this esp when landing, one can only imagin how many pilots where lost in training accidents.
cheers ian

PS, cool break-chute anims also

This is the "throw-away" jet Frontal Aviation issued to its units during the 50s and 60s - they were anticipating combat loss rates so incredibly high they came up with what was basically a metal tube with a jet engine in it, a cockpit, and some wings attached. Not much in the way of avionics. It could be used from dirt strips, however, and was easy to maintain.

I just noticed in the readme file thst this Sukhoi SU 7 was made by our favorite Mig builder, Flusirainer! No wonder it's so nice!

Wow that looks sweat Steve, there was one by Jan Moravec, released over at Flightsim.CZ, and Ito's model, but im thinking that one you have has never been released, maybe you where given a Beta model to play with.
cheers ian

Nice thing about the Su-7 Beta 2... everything works like it is supposed to... and it handles like a truck. Very nice for a "Beta".

Love flying this "truck" about the old Warsaw Pact. Great stuff.

I don't know anything about Cold War Soviet aircraft flight models, but I get the shakes with this one at about 430 knots down on the deck. Seems like it should be good up to at least 500 or more knots. Anyone know?

Steve,

I hope you'll spill some paint on this one.

Downloads are scattered all over the thread, hence I suggest starting on page one and then just download and install every new iteration of the model that Rainer uploaded.

- E: They've also got a Peenemünde scenery for Steve's Floggers.

Mehlin is obviously still completing this excellent project. From the shots and vids located in the link above it looks really really good. Have loved flying Mehlin's MiG-21. A real seat of the pants Cold-War warrior that demands complete attention but rewards with great satisfaction.

Hope he releases it soon, in the mean-time, I will fire up the SU-7 that was so kindly pointed out in this thread.

Thanks for some great a/c Mehlin. Such a blast! . . . . .

To save others from going through all 23 pages of the thread, there is only one link to the full aircraft and that leads you to flightsim.com. All the model links point to empty dropbox locations. The flightsim link is a package for Ito's version.....

If I remember correctly, there was another Su-22 or Su-17, something like that, which was much older than these since I used it back in my FS9 days. And if I'm not mistaken, it had quite a good-looking virtual cockpit too... Or am I confusing ?

EDIT: it was by Jan Moravec, a Su-22M-4, found it here:

a) His first name is Rainer, last name Mehlin. Irks me every time I have to read it the wrong way.

b) I've shot Rainer a PM about the Fitter.
